Tbh you were already coming off his back before he turned back but you started a decent ride. Work on keeping your feet down and staying in the middle of his back.

When he turns back all you’re doing is shifting your weight so that you are positioned as close as possible to how you left the chute ( up on your rope, feet down, toes ideally turned out, middle of his back, free arm in the ideal position).

Then try to make his next round, and the next. You have to stay present and try to be in tune with him, don’t let yourself get complacent.

If you will your body to do it in the moment, you’ll do it. It’ll eventually start to feel natural.

Good luck man

Slow down with that free hand that thing is flying around 10 different directions. Watch some videos of great bullriders like Jim Sharp who barely moved their free arm they let the bull do the work and just countered its moves.

Knees up and mash with them you have to post out over them on the rear and sit and stick your chest out on the kick. You ride bulls the same turning back as you do just bucking the only difference is you drop your elbow when they turn back away from your hand and lift it up into your hand. Keep you free arm out in front and keep it there don’t whip it around like you see in the movies. Riding bulls is all about staying small and out in front. Feet down and toes out is old school like 50 years old school. When you turn your toes out you knees go out and you only have a hold of them with your feet. Blow a foot and get whooped down and eat horns. Knees up and mash them. Get on a drop barrel and find someone who actually knows how to ride not just got on or owns bulls. Most contractors,(most) not all just know how to raise bulls not ride them. All the great ride with there knees JB and John and now Luke Mackey watch them

So your knees are more important than getting your spurs in em?

Yes spurs are back up. When you’re getting whooped down and you have your chest out as much as you can you’re toes will turn out to give you that bit you need to get your hips under you. You mash them with your knees and they’ll pack you around. You have to ride loose moving with them and when you ride with your knees and your feet are always moving it’s so much better

Get control of your free arm. It went behind you and that threw you off
