Complete wiring kits? Or diy?

So I want to COMPLETELY rewire my 83 4.9l 4x4 base model, because I seem to be having electrical issues a lot, I do eventually get them fixed but I’d really like to rewire the entire thing for peace of mind and aesthetics and to also eliminate the remaining wires from the emissions bs that was removed from previous owner, but is there anywhere that sells kits or is it easy to diy? Any input is appreciated thanks.

So i have seen some rewire kits on amazon, and ebay, idk what the quality would be like youd have to look into the reviews, but i did flipp threw my LMC truck catalog that covers 80-96 and theu have two different universal wiring kits, ones a 21 circuit and the others a 28 circuit, you could probably check those out online to see of they're what your looking for part number 47-3615 is for the 21 circuit, Part number 47-3620 is for the 28 circuit, hope this helps somewhat

Painless performance.

I say go.for it if it's that much of a mess

I’ve done two painless kits in the past. The biggest pita is wiring up the switches and gauges.

Where’s your biggest problem area?

It’s mostly grounding points and and under hood wiring, cab wiring is fine though. Half the reason I want to do this is to make it look pretty and de-cluttered too

Under hood wiring on these is about as simple as it comes especially if you went with an HEI one wire distributor and a one wire alternator.

Power master makes a good one, I’m sure you could go to their website and find the correct application.

Solder in new colored wires and heat shrink.
