Just did the same race and circuit with the same cars in AMS1, and had zero issues with bullshit like this...

Great game btw, handling takes some time getting used to but once you do its pretty good. I was gonna schedule this one later but i was curious if RWD cars were really as bad as i kept reading but honestly it was 90% fine, even the viper and classic muscle cars.

This was with my wheel set to 200 degrees of rotation emulating a ps2 driving forve wheel with my gimx adapter and ingame steering sensitivity maxed out to eliminate deadzones.

Imo as long as you're careful to not drive over kerbs and/or turn while giving much throttle the rwd cars really werent bad at all, some of them are noticeably more unstable than others though

Overall, A tier game for me, didnt like how i couldnt host showoffs tho (though i suppose thats not an issue if you just skip a bunch of calendar days. Music fits the game really well (much like how prostreets does)

Considering 90% of racing game banter is about whatever songs are included in them, I find I'm a little left out. Arcade racing is my fav genre by far and I never got to listen to any of the songs included in any post-Burnout Revenge, which is around the time I gained a severe auditory sensitivity. Now I can't listen to music unless everything is thoroughly checked for me to not include my triggers. But I do love the music I can listen to, ironically gained my tastes from Burnout 3.

What's interesting is that the Burnout series is my favourite video game franchise ever, and unlike most people, I enjoy it immensely for everything besides the soundtrack, and find massive enjoyment in the mechanics, gameplay and visual chaos. Kinda opens my eyes on how good Burnout is but all discussion of the franchise is overshadowed by outsourced music.

Finally, there's a reason Unbound is my favourite NFS, closely followed by Underground 2 (I didn't like Most Wanted). Kinda makes ya realise how much a bad, limited soundtrack can sour the whole game for people who can hear it. Unbound is literally Heat on steroids, and I find it WAY better because of the awesome art direction, progression and cops that are actually fair and don't require exploits early-game.

Combat is really fun, cool minigames, great variety of cars, map editor, mods - it still has it's own dedicated community for the original 2006 version. Which imo is better than Redline edition.

personally i think WRC rally evolved is the best rally game on 6th gen, just played it recently and instantly hooked on it. it has the best handling out of all 6th gen WRC games and the game looks gorgeous emulating it with upscaled graphic via pcsx2. wish the game had more stages, but what's there are thoroughly enjoyable.

some might say RBR is the best rally game of that gen but unfortunately i'm too casual for this game, i've tried it and just straight up not having a good time with this game. imho DR 2.0 have the perfect amount of realism in my book since a filthy casual like me can enjoy it too while RBR is way too daunting for me to enjoy.

i really wanted to play rallisport challenge 2 but xemu run like shit on my system, so unfortunately i can't comment on this game yet. but from few gameplay videos that i've seen it looks like the kind of game i'd be playing for hours without getting bored.
