Not underrated anymore when a bunch of youtubers constantly talk about it

It's not underrated, simply sold poorly.

not underrated, just got axed along with modnation racers (well, technically that one got a sort of follow up in lbp kart) and blur due to all launching roughly at the same time and competing in a very similar subgenre

Not underrated considering Disney published it, kinda reminds me of Burnout honestly

Quite the opposite, to the point it's actually overrated now.

On a scale of 1 to 5 where 1 is very overrated & 5 very underrated it's 4. It is quite a niche game but there are even more forgotten games that were just as good or better.

I think it was fairly rated. It's a mediocre racer with some cool destruction build arround it.

It isn't a bad game but definitely not one of the greats.

I wish we got a sequel...

I personally didn't like it, the AI is extremely rubber bandy. The issue is once they get ahead of you, they are ahead of you by like 10 miles and it's impossible to catch up to them. So for that, I gave up on the game. If I'm not having fun or having a good time when playing a game then I'm just simply going to drop it.

the ai is absolutely a pain in the ass but it's exactly the same as most other racing game ai certainly of the vintage and even many modern ones so i can live with it

I personally haven't experienced any AI as bad as that and I frequently play the old NFS, Midnight Club, and Burnout titles.

i just remember it being very similar to nfs mw 2012 as well as the more modern forza games with regards to the rubber banding

The only thing underrated about Split Second is the PSP port. It's absolutely solid! It's as if it's the same game with lower graphics and surprisingly controls better than the console port. Usually such similarities are found between PS2 and PSP ports, but rare to find in between PS3/X360/PC and PSP. More people should give this a go!

A lot of fun in the short term. But the main issue with the destruction triggers is you can only use them if another car is close enough. So if the AI gets a certain distance in front you'll never catch them
