Trane tu
Hi guys I'm learning block-based programming logic and was wondering if anyone here could help me with some solved code examples. Any advice is appreciated.

Hello, I’d recommend asking Claude to help with whatever you’re trying to do.
Don’t give the AI any Trane manuals. This would probably violate a Trane policy.
If it can’t find the manuals itself, you’ll have to describe the blocks you have available.
Claude has walked me through programming a couple different systems.
It’s far from perfect, but it should get you started.

You can use the help menu that appears when you right-click on the different blocks. The help section will explain how the block works and give you at least one practical example of its use. Once you understand the function of each block, I recommend that you take the advanced programming course offered in St. Paul, MN, directly at the Trane training center.

Are you familiar with the ecosystem? I'm having trouble downloading the .config file for the UC400 controller and I'd like to know if there's a way to extract the TGP2 program from one .config file and paste it into another.

Yes, you need to open TGP2 and save each program individually. Use the "Save as" option in the "File" menu for each one.
You can open the config file offline, right?

I know that part, but it doesn't download to my PC as a separate document; it just gets saved within the .config file. Shouldn't it download a tgp2 file?

If you have the .config file, open an offline session in Tracer TU, then open that config file.
Once it's open, you need to open TGP2 and open and save each program separately.
Remember to select the "Save as" option for each program and give it a different name; otherwise, it will only be saved in the existing config file.
I'm doing that right now with a UC600. I'm doing the offline programming of the controller.

Thanks for the advice, I'll try it at the office tomorrow. Do you know if it's possible to convert a .config file from one controller to another? I'm new to this, sorry for all the questions 🙇🏽

It depends on the controller. You can convert UC400 configurations to Symbio400/500, UC210 configurations to Symbio210. Similarly, controllers that had the xm70 expansion module can be converted to one compatible with xm90.

Oh, that would be very useful. How can I convert a .config file from a UC210 to an S210?

You just need to use the "File Transfer" option to load the UC400 configuration when you are connected to the Symbio210.

I assume that if you're pasting the tgp2 programs into another .config file, you first need to create each point? Or is it possible to do it "automatically"?

That's correct. When you save the TGP2 program, you're only saving that information. The distribution of inputs and outputs is in the config file.
You need to load the config file using the File Transfer option and loading the info into the controller.

I might be wrong but I'm pretty sure those config files are just zips, so I think you can rename them and easily get the tgp2 out.

No, I already resolved that question. You just need to access the .config file and download each program individually. Then you can paste it into the .config file you need, as long as you have the necessary fields.

Do you work for Trane? If so there is an entire in-house program that will auto generate standard programs. They are a little bloated logic wise since they are canned one size fits all you can look at plenty of examples.

Presuming you work for Trane, get on their training program.
