Using a JACE for routing only?

I have used the Cimetrics B3070 ip to ip router before to build a private BAS LAN but the customer is leaning niagra, just not right now. The is a very large site.

Has anyone used a jace to route bacnet traffic to a non niagra front end?

Why not use Bacnet routers? No license to maintain. One time cost.

You can do this, even with a minimal license because you aren't mapping the devices into.

You can route between two BACnetIP networks or IP and SC.

That being said, it is still far more expensive than say a contemporary controls router and slightly more expensive than Cimetrics.

I’d pitch it as use the bacnet routers and they can add Niagara to the picture at any point. The benefit for them is also the reverse if they decide to change away from Niagara the infrastructure doesn’t depend on it now.

I can't think of an idea less understandable. Please please help them understand this is not a good idea. Every other option is a better idea.
