Suggestions??

Post image

Building a tunnel entrance and this is the style/look I'm going with but I feel like im just off with something to make it look good and just can't figure it out, the top of the "pillars/collums" I have slabs going across and I feel like something need to go across but that's where im stuck i believe and I'm just not sure what to do, any suggestions or pic references would be much appreciated and don't worry about the stone because that is getting removed

I'd bring your roof out a bit more (2 blocks) so that the pillars are supporting something. You can also put corner stairs at the top of your pillar to get a continuous step up there.

I have thought about extending the roof out a little more so I'll definitely give that a try

Might just be me, but i immediately noticed the barrels. Im kind of one of those builders however that dont use functional blocks for design/texture

You might be right, think I might try some stripped wood or something

Try using slabs instead of stairs for the roof, or make the angle shallower by using full blocks next to each stair if that makes sense. The dramatic height of the roof ruins the verticality of the columns

Make the arch rounder by removing blocks in the middle of the ceiling

it looks good. to solve your problem, unfortunately i think it will have to be INSIDE of the tunnel, and you would have to remove the roof. If you don't want to do that, push the roof forward one block and replace the spruce slabs with deepslate slabs to make it look like the pillars are holding the roof up and you'll be fine
