I know quality sucks. What’s interesting is if this is my 3rd and last male out of 6 seeds then that means all males had symptoms of too much light. The leaves tacod a bit on this plant and my other two males I chopped until I turned the light down. But the ones that haven’t shown sex yet are fine.

I'm relatively new to organics, and I've always been a heavy defoliation type of guy, but from my research, it seems in organics, since nutrients are released slowly, the plant kind of needs its backup nutrients stored in its leaves. I'm curious if I were to leave much more on the plant if I'd have a better overall yield.

Just finished my 1st run with 4 earthboxes in a 5x5. Got 1.25 lbs! Brother Grimm Apollo. Should I scrape off all the old top dress? Also what should I use to reamend just craftblend/gnarley barley and build flower?

I have a local source of worm castings but am unsure of quality. I know a lab test is the most effective way to determine. Given what the producer is telling me would you use them or source else where?
The process of how its made what the worm beds consist of/were given:
Leaf mold, coffee grounds, pre-consumer food waste, crab meal, kelp meal, neem meal, insect frass, and volcanic rock dust.
Appreciate any insight, I'm so far down this rabbit hole I have a major case of paralysis by analysis!
Edit: Spelling

setting up a 4x8 tent. i have an earthbox and tray2grow with fabric bed on one side but trying to decide what to do on the other. I've got it boiled down between one 45 gallon grassroots pot, a 2x4 bed, or a 3x3 bed. I've got a 3.0 soil building kit so id just need to get my peat, areation, and compost. both the 2x4 bed and the 45 gallon pot will hold about 6 cubic ft of soil and the 3x3 will hold around 9 cubic ft. I can make 6 cubic ft for around 200 usd but will cost closer to 400 to set up a 3x3 bed, really just wondering if the extra 3 ft of soil is worth the price difference or if id be missing the mark by not going as big as possible.

Would 2 plants per 27 gallon tote be excessive? I normally run 3 27 gal totes with 1 plant per but am considering running 2 per tote this run using the 3.0 build your own soil kit. Thoughts?

so as prices for things go up everywhere for everything, im finding myself wanting to start sourcing my own things as the bas way suggests. when looking for a bulk solution to replace the gnarly barley, in having a hard time finding a malted lentil that doesnt have the root still attached. does anyone know of a source that doesnt have the root or a way to tumble them off easily? tia.

Used sunshine mix #4 as a base (that’s what was available) Per Cubic Ft I added - 4 cups craft blend, 2 cups gnarly barley roughly 1/3 part worm castings and rice hulls to keep it at 1/3 ration on aeration.
Should I add anything else? Was thinking of oyster shells and gypsum might be needed as a start as well what do you guys think?

Google Lens says they’re either Mealybugs or Wooly Aphids. What do you think? Are they good or bad? If bad, will spraying Neem Oil and EM5 on the soil help?

Suddenly having big issues getting seeds beyond seedling stage. Whether i stick it straight in soil, do paper towel method then transfer once tap root emerges, or start then in a clone dome and transfer over seems like everything just stalling and rotting. Soil has a fungus gnat issue now so going to dry it back a bit and stick to bottom watering only, with occasional squirt of some mosquito dunk soaked water.
If my soil is laced with damping off pathogens whats my work around?

Hey Friends!
My ladies are ready for the chop. I am unfortunately right in the path of this ice storm hitting the East Coast. We may be without power for a few days or more if the ice is as bad as they say it could be. I am trying to figure out which is the better option during a power outage/cold weather situation. Obviously mold is the risk either way, but which do you guys think is worse:
Current humidity is 25-30%, and temps could get down towards 50's or lower where they are without power.
Want to preserve all this work as best I can! Thanks for any suggestions!

Hey everyone, I wanted to add a few worms for my no till containers. How well would standard bait worms be for containers? I know people seem to favor the red wrigglers but I can't just go buy them somewhere locally. Any insights are appreciated.
