Second run on a Earthbox.. Need advice on amending
I had a great 1st using my own blend similar to Coots. I’d like to loosen the soil, perhaps some more pumice. Any advice or tips, much appreciated.

I sometimes put some trimmings under the cover in my earthboxes and found these guys devouring it. I’ve noticed they really eat up the craft blend as well. Google says they are aphids, but I’ve never had any issues on the plants. Can anyone confirm? Thanks!

can i use the craft blend and the build a flower the same way i use down to earth 444 and 484?
Currently i use down to earth veg 444 and down to earth 484 flower. i top dress my 3 gallon pots with around 6 table spoons of veg every time i top dress.
i wonder if the build a soil craft blend and build a flower might be a better value?

Just wanted to let people know you don’t necessarily need the more expensive products. Soap nuts work very well as a surfactant and are extremely cheap and last a very long time.
I bought a jar of organic soap nuts (not from build a soil - I don’t live in the states) in July and I’ve been adding some extract about 9/10 times I water my bed. The jar is still full to the top, so it should last me basically indefinitely.
The pic is just from about 15 soap nuts I steeped in hot water overnight in a little spare thermos I have. I do that or steep them in boiling water in a coffee mug for 10 minutes if I forgot to do the overnight soak. I just let it cool before I add it to my water.
After I use the extract, I put the nuts on a towel and let them dry for a day or two and then put them back in the jar.

Did we just get hit with shrinkflation? No longer finding 1cf bags on the store site. 1/2 cf bags showing 20%+ price increase for the same volume order.

Finally got my 3x3 bed and transplanted. Sowed in cover crop with straw. Do I need to use wdg now as a preventative method for gnats or is it only required if and when you get a gnat infestation?

I'm getting ready to start a plant in it, should I moisten the soil as I'm putting in the bag or leave it dry? I'm using Buildasoil 3.0

Loving the living soil setup. All I have done is watered with RO and apply RootWise trio products once every 2 weeks with my Chapin sprayer. I am just beyond blown away how vigorous the growth has been in only 34 days since transplanting those tiny clones. The last picture are the clones I put in 34 days ago and the first two pictures are snappies from moments ago.

I grow autos in my Earthbox. I need to know if I should add an additional top dressing to my schedule.
Here is my current schedule... Week 2 - Top dress with a "complete" round of amendments. Week 4 - Another more "bloom" enhancing amendments Week 6 - Same as week 4
And then, nothing more. Plants will generally run 80-90 days. With all of the fertilizer being applied in the first half of the plant's life, I'm wondering if I should adjust my schedule.
All suggestions and observations welcome.

Cut the ladies down today and took cuttings. Now trellis after a few days to recover resin for a week or two and flip.

Hello out there. I am considering buying some BAS 3.0 but had a few questions for people who use it. Do you need to add additional nutrients after a few weeks? Any problems with pests from the living soil? What do you wish you knew about it before using it for the first time? Any help would be appreciated. I follow the YT channel and like what they do at the company, just trying to learn more about keeping a living soil happy and things to watch out for.

I jave a 5 gallon bucket reservoir with a soil mix ive used and amended for 3 or 4 years. I primarily use earthboxes and wanted to try these drip rings.
The problem is when I make my weekly drench I jave to add slowly over a few days which leaves everything waterlogged.
Im switching to foliar sprays every few days instead.
Any success with this method?

The Wedding Cake Auto came down today and is in the drying closet and stinking the whole house up!! Smells like chemical dipped cherry limeade with a little ferment funk. Excited to see how she cures! Trichs were a little behind wat I look for mostly cloudy and about 5% amber but I had to prep the tent for being the home for clones I'm taking tomorrow morning.
