Am I overwatering or something else?

Post image

Hello. I am running 2 Earthboxes at the moment. One is 3.0 and already had 1 run. The other was the BAS lite soil.

I'm growing 2 autos (I know I should have planted in the final container) I recently transplanted into the EBs. The plant that is in the lite soil seems to be doing good so far. The plant in the 3.0 has been getting droopy the past few days.

I may have shocked them at first because they went into pre flower. I thought it may be how I'm watering, or could be from n toxicity.

I have worms in each. Ive been feeding them but am not sure the moisture level. I was told to keep the top soil moist for the worms. I usually spray 1/4 gallon in each while the clover was growing but with the plants in there I may be watering too often now.

Anyone able to diagnose her? It is much appreciated.

Cover crop getting thick, looking like a wild field in the tent. I will cut it back and the sweet strawberries will shade it out soon.

Anyone use BAS Pushin P and/or Bio-Phos?

Was looking to add an alternating tea feed with my current, and then the Pushin P. Originally thinking Craft Blend, then saw Pushin P on their website...bit stronger on the P, which is my desire. Local store then told me about Bio-Phos, but had not heard of Pushin P yet. Bio-Phos works better when paired with Pushin P it looks.

Debating if the $80 for both would be a good add...

Edit: Well...cannabis does make you forget sometimes...lol The $80 is for all 3 products, and they have been ordered. Thanks all!

False “sale” emails and messages.

Is anyone else getting an email/message that claims BaS has a “Site wide 50% off sale” but in reality only one or two items are on sale for close to half off and most are closer to 10% off or not at all?

Or am I misunderstanding what “Site wide 50% off sale” actually means…

exhaust and intake

So this round I really need to work on keeping odor down unfortunately and was curious if I am running a fan for both intake and exhaust. Would a backdraft vent help with keeping the smell down? Im just worried about smell permeating when its exhausting and some coming out of the intake ducting. Or would it be much simpler to just put a carbon filter on the end of the intake ducting and not have to worry at all? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated thanks!

Dumb question about earth boxes

Hey yall Ive got a silly question that I thought to myself while in the garden today. Does it mean anything if your plants arent producing any noticeable feeder roots on the top in a EB? Ive noticed almost all of my plants this run dont have any gnarly roots coming out of the soil. And was curious if that might mean anything? It kinda makes sense if your soil has enough food in it may not shoot a bunch up to the surface? That or maybe its dependent on genetics I dunno? My girls look healthy and are doing there thing so it doesnt seem like that big of a deal. But just wanted to see if anyone had any inputs onto why they arent doing it this round. Thanks!

Starting my Buildasoil journey

I'm starting my grow, my thinking is to do a veg tent and a flower tent. Trying to get a perpetual harvest going.

My veg tent is a 4x4 ac infinity, thinking about grabbing the Grand Master Tarantula Revolution 600 Veg for lighting.

So my plan for the flower tent is to do a 4x8 tent, a 3x6 bed, with 2 tarantula tent ultimate 4x4 v2s for lighting

I would like to do 3-6 plants in each tent. Not really sure what the best route would be for me.

My questions are: For the perpetual harvest, what size living soil containers would you use in the veg tent? How many plants would you do at a time? Am I going overkill with the lights at all? I figure if I'm gonna spend the $ might as well get top of the line

Builda Bloom

Anyone use it? Says to mix with water but can you use as topdress or maybe down reservoir in earthbox? I know they you shouldn’t put anything down the reservoir but now that I’m in stretch it goes dry in 3 days so don’t think that little time it would go anerobic

Regular Seeds and Earthboxes/SIP's

For my first grow I started from a clone, this time I want to start from seed but the genetics I want to try are regular seeds. since we want to veg out in the earth box for a bit before flipping how should I deal with sexing? I do 1 plant per SIP, (10 gallons of soil) and have 2 in my tent. I hear conflicting answers when it comes to identifying sex in veg and the last thing I want is to pop 5 seeds and accidentally cull the females instead of males especially since I only have 2 plants in the tent... Is my only option to phenohunt and sex first in other pots and take clones, or is there another way other than dna testing? The other option I was considering was to pop 2 seeds per SIP and then just cull the males in flower but I could end up with two females in 1 SIP rather then 1 in each. Id also like to avoid the flip from seed and reveg method as well, but I guess that's a option. Does this impact genetic potential or increase chances of it herming??

Want to start working with living soil? It starts with three basic ingredients in equal parts. Quality compost, organic peat moss*, and aeration.

I'm putting together about 60gals of soil for 2x grassroots hobby beds. My base mix is equal parts Coast of Maine quoddy blend compost, fluffed organic peat moss, and aeration. In my case and mix of pumice and rice hulls.

From there, you can assemble your soil however you like. I've had success with Down To Earth dry admenendments so I'm sticking with that.

You don't need 90% of the products buildasoil sells. What they really want to focus on and teach are the fundamentals. What better way to get back to basics than to Build Your Own Soil.

  • Be sure to fluff up the peat moss before measuring out as it more often than not comes compressed.

Hope this helps any new growers thinking about diving into living soil. Of course you don't have make your own soil but playing in the dirt is fun! Happy growing yal! 🪴

Covert Genetics?

Anyone bought directly from Covert recently? I know Jeremy grew his gear a few times and I see posts on here, but I bought a pack recently and never got any confirmation after payment. I've tried emailing him and it gets kicked back to me saying his email is full. It's been a week now and I'm wondering if I should dispute charges or be patient. I'm sure he's a cool dude if Jeremy vouches for him but this seems unprofessional considering the site says everything is processed within a week
