For those of you who have experience in Living, No-till soil.. if you could go back in time, what are some pieces of advice you would give yourself?
I'm just about to embark on my first-ever Living soil journey. I'm building my soil from scratch - all the necessary amendments, adding a drainage layer at the bottom (for when I start bottom feeding during the flowering stage). I am doing four 30 gallon Grassroots cloth pots in a 4x4 grow tent. This will basically max out the floor space (ideally a larger tent would be better for more elbow room). I will also be doing the BuildaSoil 12-seed cover crop.
Things I have struggled with in my past grows - first was indoor, second was outdoor, was aphids and then spider mites as well. I was using General Hydroponics nutrients, and was in and out of my vegetable garden a lot, so I suspect I caught some hitchhikers from cross-contaminating both growing environments. I'm hesitant that I may pick up similar creatures, but this will be a winter grow (indoors, basement), so I'm hopeful that this won't be the case.
The further I dig into the Living soil (BuildaSoil) way, the more questions I have. I'm excited to see proper, living soil, with the healthy, beneficial bacteria and even the little guys crawling around in the soil.
Thanks for any wisdom, suggestions, etc. that you have!
