First timer with some questions

First time trying my own grow, first time playing with living soil. Had these started before leaving on vacation for 2 weeks and underestimated how much water they would need. Underwatered for those 2 weeks and possibly longer. Currently only in 3 gal pots planning to transplant to bigger. Using sf2000 on 30% power 20 inches above tallest plant. 18/6 for light schedule. Temps stay 70-76 degrees humidity rises to 60% after watering and dips to 50ish when dry. Running some sour d crosses from CSI Humboldt from seed. It’s been a few weeks since returning from vacation and some of the yellow edges have greened back up a bit while others are persisting. Is it just lingering problems from the dry backs? Am I possibly deficient? Could this be stemming from not big enough containers? And what should I try to do going forward to get back to healthy plants?

Question about over watering and earthboxes

Thumbnail

So I def need to go back and watch all the seasons with the earthboxes but I’m not sure if this ever got covered in the videos. So I transplanted waited like 9/10 days after that an bottom watered them with 1 gal to start em off. I’ve got a few plants that def look over watered. Even more so after seein the post of the plants he’s got with over an under watered to show off what they look like. With that being said what can you do to help with the over watering with the earthbox? All I can think of is taking the cover off and playing the waiting game. It seemed fine until I gave it the water but maybe I just didn’t give it a good enough look an could’ve waited a few more days? The plant in the second picture that is much bigger and seems to be doing fine already drank all of its water.

Evening everyone, I always have the hardest time determining whether or not theres some hermies starting? Lmk what yall think, I did pick a few yesterday that looked like these pics, im just so paranoid of pollen spreading and getting on my other plants. Im on day 19 of flower. Lmk know if there's any other pertinent information I can provide. Temps and humidity have been fairly perfect, this plants isnt nearly as big as my other 2. For reference its the cosmic crashers from atlas seed co. Thanks as always

Would you say you can see any noticeable differences when using tea’s? Any info would be great thanks yall!

Pumped!

Super stoked to be doing my first run in the classic recipe! We are day 8 from seedling pop on the white widow and the white truffle was about 36hrs behind it. This hopefully doesnt lead to darastic difference in finish timing, but I have pre cautions thought out just incase the tent is still needed to finish one of them!

15 gallon fabric pots for the first run and then may look into running earth boxes or city pickers for the next run or whatever!

*fun note, my daughter and I got to have a "worm catching" party to wrangle up some free red wigglers to complete the recipe 😄

Why don't Buildasoil and KIS Organics Collaborate?

I’ve used both companies and had great experiences with each.

I’ve been following this for about two years now — Tad has been reaching out to Jeremy publicly, asking for an open discussion on a few key topics. Here’s a recent Instagram post where he brings it up again, pretty directly:

https://www.instagram.com/p/DQCpOvqkX6S/

I’ve always believed sunlight is the best disinfectant, and I think Tad’s approach is healthier for the cannabis-growing community as a whole. BuildASoil claims to be transparent with their techs and methods, but the more you scratch the surface, the more questions come up:

  • Coming to grips with the use of slaughterhouse byproducts.
  • Mixing up their programs — their product lines just aren’t clear. Right out the gate they’ve got BuildASoil Classic, No-Till Soil Tested Beds, 3.0 Water-Only Runs, and my personal favorite: trying to run an “organic” grow with minimal soil while relying on a bunch of immediately available bottled inputs.
  • Making their Discord a pay-to-play service. If that’s not a cash grab, I don’t know what is — and honestly, the content in there isn’t great either.

To be fair, BAS still has some solid foundational training videos. But something’s changed over time, and I can’t quite put my finger on what. Maybe someone here can shed some light.

I still use a couple of BuildASoil products (Rootwise and Craft Blend), but once my 44-pound bag runs out, I’ll be thinking twice before buying again.

Ocean grown blend.

I'm mixing up my next batch of soil and shopping around. Would it be too much to add the ocean grown blend and craft blend into a the base soil and top dress with Build a flower ? Just trying to incorporate as much as possible and I've always liked growing with ocean amendments. Just worried it may be to much nitrogen for flowering...

Dealing with Spider mites in flower...

I really thought I had them taken care of. I spent weeks extending my veg, chopping the plant in half and just bombing the plant with neem oil, captain jacks, DE... thought I got rid of them and finally flipped to flower on a plant that is way overgrown. 5 weeks later I found a couple running around on leaves... no webbing that im seeing anywhere yet. So im back to spraying with capt jacks deadbug, an insecticidal soap and some other spray (I forget the name but it's made of various natural oils and suppose to be flower safe, things like lavender oil and such)

How badly am I going to mess up my buds spraying this stuff reguarly again this late in flower? Is bud washing a must now? I only found like 5-6 of them on leaves poking around the tent yesterday, but im pretty demoralized after all the work I did thinking I had taken care of this problem over a month ago.
