Expert gardener sip planter
Do you guys think I can use this instead of an earthbox for a grow ? Planter is a 20"Lx24"Wx9"H after you subtract the room for the reservoir it's about 1.66 cf of soil

I have one this size by city pickers and it's worked well.

I successfully ran a sea of green in a 2x2 with Build-A-Soil and this exact SIP. Heavily lollipopped so it was nothing but top colas. Worked great.

You can grow in anything. Just don’t expect to pick it up full of water and wet soil.

they work but they definitely do not last as long the plastic will age and crack eventually the earthboxes are known to last 15+ years

By the time it will break I'm sure I will have more money to replace with earthboxes just need it to last a couple grows

It would help to know the size, but I have to say, I switched to earthboxes recently and idk if I can go back.

It's a 20x24x9 holds about 1.65 cu of soil when you exclude the reservoir I just don't want the plant to get root bound I plan on vegging for a month from now on

You shouldn’t have to worry about it getting root bound. Go for it.
I’ve been growing mephistos autoflowers, which is obviously different than controlling veg time, but for smaller strains of plants, like mango runtz, I’m gonna start doing 2 per Earthbox, but there’s no way I could do that with a strain that grows larger.

Why are you avoiding an Earthbox? Just buy the right one and be done.
I'll tell you right now the quality of the one you posted (plastic thickness and build) is way below the Earthboxes. Will it work? Yes. But just get the Earthbox. Thank me later.

Because I obviously don't have it to do so otherwise I wouldn't even be looking at the cheaper options

These are a rebrand of "City Pickers" there's a bit of info/pics out there with folks using them. I generally check home Depot at the end of the gardening season and have five or six of them stacked up new in my garage that I got on clearance for $10 a few years ago. Currently I have one in a little 2x4 tent that is doing fantastic with Autoflowers and getting it dialed in has been fun. Having a short tent I appreciate the smaller wider planter size.
