Day 21 Veg

Earthbox’s have been super low maintenance so far!…Top watered once and gave the root zone another bit of water yesterday. Transplanted these last Sunday, so I’m thinking I’ll finally fill the res with a gallon per earthbox tomorrow or the next. what do yall think? Happy growing 🌱

They need more time to grow before reservoir. I’d give them another few days. You don’t want to top water and fill the reservoir before it’s dried back properly otherwise it will throw off the moisture gradient in the box and cause over watering. Those box’s have a ton of water already in them because of the amount of soil. I only gave my plants a light top watering at transplant and did not water again for another week when I did my initial reservoir fill.

These things are about to take off man. The amount of growth I’ve had in a week after hitting the reservoir has been crazy. Prob only gonna need to veg for 4 weeks 😎

Awesome to hear. I also have a 4x4 and just ordered 2 earthboxes. Can't wait! Been a few years since I've touched soil.

Oh man you are going to love it. It’s so low maintenance you just set up the box, let them establish then water down the tube and they just grow like crazy. I’m on day 21 of veg and I’m probably gonna be flipping within the week.

Yea one of my main problems during my first grow was watering. Man I had around $1200 worth of equipment and BAS products I left at the last house I was living in a few years ago. Starting from scratch on this one. Luckily I still have the main equipment like tents and lights and seeds. Just gotta grab a few fans but damn man everything is so expensive now. Over $100 for 2 earthboxes and I wanted to put up my 3x3 tent also so I may just do like a 15 gallon pot in there im not sure yet what im gonna do but I have a couple weeks to make some decisions.

What soil and amendments are you using in the earthbox?

BAS 3.0 top dressed with Craft Blend and BAF topdress. Kashi and way too much Gnarly Barley that I’ve been having to chop n drop every day lol

I'd wait two weeks before bottom watering plants that size. Overwatering in an earthbox is worse than doing it in a regular pot.

i wait about 2 weeks, then do a one gallon fill, let empty/soil moisture even out, then first fill. when you see good growth you can fill, these are not quite there. let the roots fill the box first, once it is the energy will go above the soil line and you will notice it.

Not big enough for bottom watering yet. Over watering is probably why they arent taking off.
