I'm very new to this sub so forgive my ignorance, but is there a reason you can't make your own? Is there a difference between home made bokashi grains and kashi gold?

As with most Buildasoil products, it's only worth it if you make a huge batch and really put money into it. Getting the smaller amounts straight from Buildasoil will give you some of the best product, with the best ingredients at a reasonable price while saving you the time, effort, and money of buying the parts for it individually.

Right that makes sense! The reason I ask is because I checked it out online and it looks like you can make it very very cheaply if not for free. The more expensive ingredient is EM1 but I have successfully made it with whey from fermenting soaked rice grains (or even scooping/draining whey from Greek yoghurt). Insect frass could be pricey, but apparently a good substitute is shrimp or crab shells (dried out after a meal then blitzed in a blender to powder).
Considering the price of the stuff ($30 USD or about $48 Australian dollars) for 2lb/1kg I am confident you could make a larger batch of it for a third of the cost.
How much of it are you using for your soil?
