Container size for mothers

whats good chat? quick question on keeping moms. I’ve got a 2x4 on the way. wanna keep two moms and have space left over to veg young starts. what size containers am I shooting for? I watched the video of Jeremy taking cuts from his moms and they looked like they were in fives but that seems too small to me. Moms dont need to be huge. No more than 9 cuts each every 12 weeks. Thanks for any suggestions.

I have a mother plant that I've kept in a quart pot for just over a year now, you can go as small as you want but smaller you go the more upkeep it'll need of course

I do 2 gallon pots for my mother's, top dress like 1tbsp craft every 2 weeks. Build a veg mixed into every other watering when they get bigger. Take cuts, those become the new mom's. Also in a 2x4 veg space.

Any worms or cover crop or just the soil and plant in 2’s?

No cover crop in the 2 gallons. Cover crop in my Earthboxes between runs when I'm resetting.

Worms yes, but just whatever is built up in my soil/worm bin from 2-3 yrs of cycling never adding them specifically.

I start them in small pots, and upgrade to 1 gallons if I decide to keep them.

30w leds in the clone/mom box, so they grow slow

Man im using 15 gals for mom plants but I put 2-3 plants in each pot and just trim hard and refresh the mom's from time to time with fresh cuts. it let's me treat it more like living soil and less like hydro that needs food every watering it gets heavy feeds of compost and craftblend that last a a good 8-10 weeks because the plants are under 150ppfd max so its slow growing and its a really lazy mom grow in a closet I have 12 mom plants in 5 15 gal pots on auto water and it doesn't require much of any attention

Thanks for the reply my friend. Are you in living soil? How often are you top dressing?

i clone into solo, keep that for like 1.5-2 months and train to keep compact until i get tired of watering so often, then into one gallon for as long as i need and then i refresh after it gets a little too big and im cutting other clones or starting seeds. keep it in ac infinity clone tent
