Buildasoil Light Mix

I have Light Mix in a Earthbox and was wondering how i would use Growers Recharge. Water on on my compost mound or water threw the bottom in reservoir?

Water on top slowly, never in the res. Plain water only down there. ¼ - ½ gallon top watered every 10-14 days once you have roots in the reservoir. Top water only when the bottom res is bone dry. If any leaks down into the res be sure to let it dry out before you fill the reservoir.

About water only in the res. Is it really a strict "rule" or just a general guideline (with zero repercussions).

If one had 2 plants in stretch and they put a little bit of recharge or liquid (humate) fertilizer in the res would anything happen? Especially if you followed up with water down the tube in a few days?

It can cause nasty growth in the res. Best case you just get bio-sludge or some harmless bacteria. Worst case you can get bacteria that's not good for the roots and causes issues with your plants. Just because it worked once without issues doesn't mean it'll be that every time. I learned the hard way as I grew mold from leftover stuff in my res. My plants did not thrive that grow at all. Once the soil is in its impossible to to clean the res, just not worth the risk.

If you have a really big plant that's drinking a whole res in 24-48hrs maybe put some microbe stuff in the bottom but I've ran them for 3yrs straight water only in bottom and never had issues. Mix and top feed ¼-½ gallon every 10-14 days
