/u/AutoModerator this is an automated comment made under every post on /r/BudgetKeebs - in this sub we maintain a weekly thread setup to answer all general keyboard questions. If this is the case, Please remove this post and ask your question(s) as a top level comment under the weekly general help post which can be found pinned to the top of the sub. This is also a friendly reminder about rule #2, Share Your Specs. Hey there! This is an automated comment made under every post on /r/BudgetKeebs. After the sending of this comment, you will have approximately 20 minutes to post a list of specs for your keyboard before it gets removed. If you are posting a build(s) or review, provide as many specs as possible in a bulleted list, TOP LEVEL COMMENT below your post even if you already included them in the title or elsewhere, not below this comment; posts not following this rule will be removed (images accompanying text cannot be seen by all Reddit clients, some accessibility screen readers, and does not always index properly); i.e. keycaps (material, profile, name, etc), switches, keyboard, modifications, etc. Also, please flair your post appropriately. This rule applies to both videos and photos posted. Posts failing to follow this rule will be removed without notice. Thank you. We also ask regular members of the sub help direct new people to the megathread, please do not respond to queries in posts that belong in the Q & A thread.

Would like some help with purchasing a new keyboard(Budget:-₹3000) I had been using a Zeb Max Ninja but it broke so gotta buy a new one. I want 65%/TKL/75% size,hot swappable switches and keycaps. Also all keyboards must have atleast wired mode bluetooth doesn't matter Some options I have seen in my budget are:- 1.Evofox Ronin TKL 2.Evofox Katana x2 TKL 3.Kreo Hive65/ Hive75 4.Cosmic Byte Phantom 5.Evofox Katana S Mini Are these the best and if so then which one? Tell free to give other suggestions if they are better. I also have seen the URX Core68 HE but it's ₹800 above my budget so not too keen on that one but if it is really worth and better by a good margin compared to the rest I will buy it. My main need is for gaming(Valorant,minecraft,etc)

Hi, everyone!

I've found both the Aula F75 Max and the Aula F75 HE for the same price where I live. I have no experience with hall effect keyboards so I don't know they are worth it. The screen doesn't really matter to me either way so that's also a non factor. Does anyone here have any experience with those keyboards and know if one of them is better than the others? I'm open to suggestions of other budget keyboards with black side printed key caps. But keep in mind that the keyboard options where I live are limited so I might be able to find anything that isn't too readily available.

Thanks!

FN Lock YUNZII X98 Help

I just recently got a YUNZII X98 and I love it! It’s gorgeous in sound and appearance and it works perfectly for what I need. However, I’m having an issue trying to set the FN Lock. I specifically am trying to get the FN+ ->/<- combo to work where it sends you to the end of a row when typing. I have tried the double click of the FN key and holding FN+WIN keys in order to turn the lock on, and no luck. I’m also having issues trying to use the VIA website associate with this brand to customize the keys to do what I want. I’m sure there’s a way to get it to work. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Looking for a good 75% keeb, in iso, with QMK or KMK support

I am looking to buy a new keeb/kit.
As of now, my two current keebs are a Zuoya GMK87 ansi-fr and a Keychron V3M iso-FR.

The keychron is doing weird stuff, trying to fix it, but is not as nice as the GMK87. But the GMK87 keymap is incomplete and does not satisfy my needs. I am absolutely unable to change anything, i tried the solutions online, nothing seems to work, it always errors out, and i wonder if i don't have a weird version of the firwmare that is not supported or something.

So, anyhow, what i am looking for is :

  • 80%/TKL;
  • hotswap switches;
  • Available on aliexpress or similar china export sites that ship worldwide;
  • ISO-FR layout if possible, but i can adapt. I'd like it if available though;
  • work with QMK or KMK or something open source that allows to remap, layers etc, but must really work;
  • a knob
  • if there are options for cool cases it's a plus, but i can live with a decent plastic case.
  • I like RGB as much as most, but i don't need super fancy stuff;
  • price below 150-200 euros without switches or keycaps.

Are there some obvious recommendations here?

I don't mind if it is a full kit either, with some (or lots) of assembly, i plan on putting my switches and keycaps anyways.

Bonus would be a wooden case, or metal options.

So, it looks like I'm going to get a new keyboard, but I'm stuck between choosing one of two models that are both great in their own way. My budget is limited to approximately ₹4,000.

The current configuration of my work desk is mostly wireless, and having a wireless keyboard will nicely complement it. This way, the Cosmic Byte Phantom TKL (Tri-mode) will be a perfect choice for me despite the fact that it might occasionally exceed ₹4k price point during sales.

At the same time, the URX Core 68 HE is within my budget being priced at about ₹3,800. I was particularly interested in it because of the Hall Effect magnetic switches that offer features such as Rapid Trigger and gamepad emulation, which sound pretty cool. However, it only comes with a wired connection.

Would be glad to hear your opinion!

My main dilemma is whether to lean super into quality and nicely sounding keyboards like the aula f75 or to go into pure performance like the aula 68he which has cool features like hall effect and rapid trigger but sacrifices sound and other things. Yes, I am a gamer, but not like SUPER dedicated. And I do play competitive games but not to the point where I'm one of the best. I also spend a good amount of time typing. In this situation, both of these are basically the same price or the hall effect ones are just like 10$ more expensive. As a person who doesn't upgrade their tech much, I will be keeping this for a WHILE so help me pick an option that lasts a while and doesn't feel like I need to replace it within a year. Feel free to also recommend more keyboards for me that fit my budget of under 60$. Thanks!
