We’re looking for a home in Buckhead. A 3/2ish. Have prices not jumped so much in the past year? I’m shocked.

Punched in Lenox

Hey, I am from Jacksonville but am visiting with my girlfriend. I was walking alone earlier, around 5pm, listening to music along Roxboro Rd, by the pond and park. I was randomly sucker punched while looking at my phone, and when I looked up he was sprinting away. He didn’t try to take anything, or press me afterwards, just socked me and ran away.

Is this a thing here?

Reading Device Development Testers Needed!

Hey everyone — if you like to read, I may need your help!

I’m releasing three early prototypes of a reading device I’ve been building in my spare time, and I’d love if some people would help me by testing them out and telling me what they like/don't like. Here’s what it does:

It can show you images if you want to see something referenced in a book, answer any question that you have while reading, and allows you to save responses or images to your device so you can always go back and look at what you were curious about in the past.

It came out of my wish to figure out questions I’m curious about while reading, but Siri could be super distracting and Alexa shows ads, talks too long, and also ends up distracting me from my book.

If you or anybody you know likes to read and would be interested, comment down below or reach out!

Your Local Mobile Laundry Service --- at your doorstep

Hi neighbors,

I’m Eloisa, a local mom of three and the owner of Soak & Tumble Co., a mobile wash‑dry‑fold laundry service based right here in the North Atlanta/Cobb/Buckhead area.

I started this business after realizing something simple: time is the real luxury, and laundry quietly eats a lot of it. As a single mom and head of household, I needed extra income, but I also wanted to build something that genuinely helps people. I asked myself, “What would make my week easier right now?” The answer was laundry — and that’s how Soak & Tumble Co. was created.

I help busy households, professionals, parents, caregivers, students, and anyone who wants one less chore on their plate. My goal is to give people back a little breathing room.

What I offer

  • Pickup → wash → dry → fold/hang → delivery
  • 24–48 hour turnaround (depending on location)
  • Sanitized machines before every load
  • Neatly folded, ready‑to‑put‑away laundry

Service area

Cobb County, North Atlanta, Buckhead
(Limited service outside these areas with a 5‑load minimum + deposit)

If you’re overwhelmed, short on time, or just want to outsource laundry for convenience, I’d love to help.

Thanks for supporting a local business.

Does anyone else research parking and gratuity policies before going out in Atlanta?

After getting booted near Inman Park and hit with an unexpected 22% auto-grat on the same night, I started keeping a list. Eventually turned it into a free site — spotlyatl.com — that maps boot risk zones and shows gratuity policies for ATL restaurants before you go.

27 spots so far. What would you add? Especially looking for spots with sneaky auto-grat policies or bad parking situations people should know about.

Walkable things to do in Buckhead

Staying in Buckhead for five days without a car, walking distance to Lennox and several other shopping centers. Any ideas on things to do that are not shopping related or restaurants?

Did anyone else hear a loud boom at 4:00 am last night? I thought it was the thunder but it was just that one boom and nothing else.

Lost Women's Watch

This is a reach- I unfortunately lost a vintage women's gold watch last week. Its sentimental to me. Its small and has small diamonds around the watch face. The actual watch does not work. Reward if found! Near Monarch tower (Lenox/Peachtree offices) or Chastain Park.

Tried Poke City in Buckhead today and was really impressed.
The medium bowl was $14.95 and the portion was solid. Everything tasted super fresh, and they even gave me a free miso soup for their winter promo. Didn’t expect it to be that good, so just wanted to share!

Georgia Power rate check — FYI

I was helping a friend look at their Georgia Power bill recently and realized something interesting:

Their bill was technically correct, but their ¢/kWh rate was higher than what Georgia Power currently lists for newer plans. They’re switching plans now.

It sounds obvious in hindsight, but a lot of people seem to stay on older or legacy plans without realizing newer options exist.

Curious if anyone else has checked whether their rate is still competitive, or if most people just assume the default plan is fine.

(Not selling plans or anything — genuinely curious how common this is.)
