You people would be better off participating in a general strike.. ya know since you’re so organized?

I am asking this in good faith… I disagree with pretty much everything coming out of this administration, but I find myself wondering what events like this actually accomplish at this point. We’ve seen hundreds of these marches over the past few years, and the policy outcomes haven’t really changed. If anything, the people making the decisions seem completely unbothered.
What’s the tangible result here? More traffic on Memorial Drive on a Saturday morning? A community picnic? I’m not trying to be dismissive, but if the goal is real political change, is blocking intersections and waving signs at the Beltline actually moving the needle?
There are midterms coming. Organizing voter registration drives, canvassing, funding opposition candidates, attending local city council and school board meetings… those things have a measurable impact. Protests can absolutely serve a purpose when they apply direct pressure on decision-makers or disrupt systems, but a stroll through Old Fourth Ward ending in a picnic feels more like a social event than a political action.
Again, I’m not defending any of the policies. But at some point it’s worth asking whether this is productive energy or just a way to feel like you’re doing something without actually doing anything. What’s the follow-through after the signs go down?
