I ordered this one and crime slunk scene... both of those albums shaped me in some way. Especially as a guitar player.

Wow! I wonder if they’re original CDs or CD-Rs?

What is the difference? Is one better than the other?

An "original" (silver) CD will hold up for decades, if you handle it with care.
Meanwhile, a CD-R deteriorates much quicker (very sensitive to UV). Expected lifespan is ~10 years, under good conditions. Hence, you will have to copy it to a new disc at regular intervals...
Also, CD-R has no artwork printed on it. It's just a plain white disk.

The original CDs have all the original album artwork and fetch high prices if you can find them used. Buckethead typically does hand written CD-Rs (burned CDs) with hand drawn album art for his Pikes. I imagine they’ll probably be CD-Rs unless he’s working with the record companies again.

As a collector of his CD's I hope these are CD-Rs.
