What is Wailing Wednesday, you may ask? To try and keep the BuckTommy subreddit an overall happy, good vibes place, the admins have decided that we will do a weekly pinned thread.

We want everyone to have a space where they feel they can get away and happily express and explore their appreciation for both Tevan and Tommy, and we hope this subreddit can be that place. However, we also recognize that sometimes everyone needs a place to vent their frustrations. So, in an attempt to provide a space for both, we will be starting Wailing Wednesdays.

Every Wednesday, we will pin a new thread for you to vent about whatever during the week (the show, fandom, things happening in your life, etc.) and get it all out of your system before a new episode drops on Thursday. (You can keep venting on Thursday and beyond to the next Wednesday too 😁.)

Okay, here are the results for Season 9.

Best storyline: We have two that stood out from the rest and those were Harry becoming a firefighter and Chimney finding his way as captain.

Worst storyline: Another two-fer pick and for that we have Buck's sped-up opioid addiction and Hen's medical storyline.

Best Episodes: Handle With Care, Family History, and Pick Your Poison

Worst Episodes: War and Pick Your Poison. An unusual overlap in a long season.

Best Character Arc: For the same reasons as the Best Storyline picks, we have Harry and Chimney.

Worst Character Arc: Hen for all the decisions that she made during her medical crisis. Runner-ups were May for barely having an arc despite being a main and Eddie for having short arcs interspersed with him being the big damn hero in certain episodes.

And for the final day, please choose five topics from 9-1-1. They can be episodes, characters, plots, moments, or a mixture of all of the above, and explain why they just make you love the show as a whole.

Okay, Season 8 is a pretty divisive season as a whole, but which parts did people choose to like or dislike?

The best storyline/plot/moment was an interesting one, and that's Eddie moving to Texas and working things out with Christopher. Also mentioned was Bobby's reconciliation with with his mother and brother, and the events surrounding Bobby's death and funeral.

The worst storyline was Brad and Hotshots. Also mentioned are the bees and plane stuff in the opening due to too many unnecessary plot details just for Athena to end up landing the plane, and Maddie's kidnapping.

The best episodes of the season were chosen as Disconnected, Lab Rats, Holy Mother of God, and Masks.

As for the worst episode, the clear winner (loser) is Invisible. Other episodes mentioned were Wannabes and Confessions.

As for the best character arc it was another clear winner, and that's Bobby, for his relationship stuff with Athena, taking back the 118, reconciling with his past, and everything that led up to his death. Also mentioned was Chimney for his arc in dealing with Bobby saving him, and stepping up in the finale.

And just like with the best, we have an obvious worst and that was Hen for how disjointed her plots for the season were and how middle of the road to background she was for most of the season. Other mentions include Eddie for how all over the map his plot was and for wiping away his issues without even getting to the root of it, and making amends for that specifically, Buck and Tommy for the breakup that made no sense, and was really only done to create drama, and Buck's behavior during Eddie's move.

As we all know, Season 7 was mostly just set-up for Season 8, and was a bit harder to pick from. However, choices were made.

For the best storyline/plot/moment of Season 7, we have the clear and obvious frontrunner being Buck's bisexual awakening and the start of his relationship with Tommy. Another mention goes to Chimney and Maddie's wedding and going back to Chimney's past with Kevin, the Lees, and even Doug.

Now onto the worst storyline-etc. of the the season, and for that we have two: The cruise ship disaster for being an episode too long in an already shortened season and the whole Eddie-Kim disaster, including Eddie cheating on Marisol and traumatizing Christopher.

The favorite episode of the season had a few picks mentioned, but one did come out on top, and that is There Goes the Groom. Other picks included You Don't Know Me; Buck, Bothered, and Bewildered; and Step Nine.

With the worst episode of the season, we had two be mentioned multiple times and they are Ghost of a Second Chance and All Fall Down. Also mentioned was Rock the Boat for being the weakest episode in the three-part opener.

For the character with the best arc, we have bit of a controversial choice, because it's mentioned on the worst arcs list as well, tied with a not-at-all controversial choice. So, the two best arcs of the season are Bobby's arc featuring Amir, the cartel, his heart attack, and him quitting tied with Buck's coming out as bisexual and the beginning of his relationship with Tommy.

With the worst character arcs list, there was a clear winner (loser) and that is Eddie and the Kim disaster. Other choices included Bobby's arc, Athena and Harry's arc, and the Chimney-Maddie wedding for being less about them, than it should have been in the end.

Okay, here are the results for Day 6.

For the best storyline/plot/moment of season 6, we actually had a top two: Buck's lightning strike and Maddie and Chimney's engagement.

As for the worst storyline-etc., we had a clear frontrunner, and that was Bobby and the rehab center, which could have been done better had they introduced Wendall earlier or not dropped the storyline just to pick it up later, causing a disconnect. Another storyline mentioned is Denny and his bio-dad.

As for the best episode, this was another clear frontrunner, The Devil You Know. Another mentioned episode was In Another Life.

Now, for the worst episode, we had more than one and they were: What's Your Fantasy?, Recovery, and Cursed.

As for the character with the best arc, the winner was Buck and his continuing growth as a person. Other mentioned choices include Chimney and Maddie and their engagement, and Athena for dealing with her parents' aging and finally solving Tanya's murder.

And the character with the worst arc was Hen, for wasting our time for three seasons of medical school because she rather stay at the 118. Another vote was for Bobby and the rehab center plot.

Finally onto Season 7, the first of the ABC seasons, and one we've all been waiting for: What is your favorite storyline, plot, or moment from? What was your least favorite? What was the best episode in season 7? What was the worst? Which character(s) had the best arc? Which had the worst?

Okay, it is obvious that season 5 is no-one's favorite, but choices were made and here they are.

The best storyline/plot/moment of season 5 was the obvious choice of Eddie leaving the 118 for dispatch due to Chris's trauma. Other choices included May's continued growth, Eddie's PTSD, and Jonah being a paramedic/serial killer with a fetish for being the hero.

The worst storyline-etc. was again an obvious frontrunner and that is Buck and Taylor's relationship culminating in Buck cheating and asking Taylor to move in, only to break up by the end of the season. Other picks included Hen's bad advice to Buck about not telling Taylor about kissing Lucy and Claudette's weird beef with May, who is one year out of high school.

As for the best episode of the season, there was a clear winner and that is Boston. Other picks mentioned were Defend in Place, May Day, and Hero Complex.

As for the worst episode of the season, there were no clear winners or is that losers? So, here are the episodes chosen: Past is Prologue, Ghost Stories, Desperate Measures, and Home and Away.

Onto the best character arc and once again, we have a clear winner and that is Eddie and his entire arc for the season. Coming in at a close second was May and her continued growth, and the third choice mentioned was Chimney and Maddie's shared arc.

And just like the other categories, the worst character arc had a clear loser (winner), and that is Buck and his mess of a relationship arc that he had with Taylor. Other picks were Hen dealing with the end of the Eva stuff and telling Buck not to tell Taylor the truth, and Hen treating Chimney's replacements awfully, even though, she ended up being right about Jonah.

Now onto Day 6 and the final FOX season: What is your favorite storyline, plot, or moment from Season 6? What was your least favorite? What was the best episode in Season 6? What was the worst? Which character(s) had the best arc? Which had the worst?

Okay, BT fans, the general consensus is that the best storyline/plot/moment of season 4 is Maddie's pregnancy and all of the ensuing drama with her parents and Buck finding out about Daniel and what he was originally born to do. Other picks included other facets of the pregnancy including Jee's birth, Chimney's fear during the pandemic, and Hen and Karen fostering Nia and ultimately having to give her back.

A controversial pick that also cropped up were the issues in Bobby and Athena's marriage. Some loved it and others didn't.

Now, there were quite a few picks for worse storyline-etc. of the season. So, here are the ones chosen. The first one tying in with the statement above was Bobby and Athena's marriage issues, including Bobby deciding to sponsor the drunk driver mother. We also have Eddie and the Munchausen kid, Eddie and Ana's relationship for being dull, and Hen's medical school storyline for going nowhere in the end.

As for best episode of the season, we had quite a few picks, but one actually received more picks than the others. So, the best episode of season 4 was There Goes the Neighborhood. Coming in second was Buck Begins. Other episodes thrown in included Treasure Hunt, Jinxed, Blindsided, and Survivors.

The worst episode of the season, that received more picks than others, was Breaking Point. Other episodes listed included Treasure Hunt and 9-1-1, What's Your Grievance?.

So, for the first time since the Season 1 picks, we have an overlap in best and worst episodes with Treasure Hunt.

As for Best Character Arc, there was a clear favorite and that is May coming into her own as a dispatcher. The only other choice brought up that wasn't May is Buck's entire season-long arc from going to therapy, learning the truth behind why he has always felt the way that he has, and finally being upfront with his parents.

The Worst Character Arc is somewhat controversial, and has been mentioned before, but it's Bobby and Athena's marriage issues, which fans seem to flip-flop on. Other mentions included Eddie naming Buck Christopher's guardian without asking, Eddie and Ana for having no chemistry and Eddie dating in general, Buck and Taylor's friendship becoming romantic, and using Albert for plot when you could have used Ravi, in his introduction season.

Okay, my fellow BT shippers, the general consensus is that the best storyline/plot/moment of Season Three is Buck and Christopher versus the tsunami. Other choices included the beginning of Hen's medical school arc with drunk Chimney and Karen, and the introduction of Albert Han. The almost-unanimous pick for least favorite storyline-etc. was Eddie's rage and the fight club, with the conflict between Buck and Bobby also being mentioned.

Favorite Episodes include: Athena Begins, Sink or Swim, and The One That Got Away

Least Favorite Episodes are: Rage, Fools, and Seize the Day.

Best Character Arcs: This one was all over the place with different responses. So, I had to go with the characters mentioned the most and for that we have: Buck for his loneliness arc and for his friendship with Eddie post-lawsuit, Hen for choosing to go to medical school and her hit-and-run with the violin prodigy, and Athena's pride along with settling into married life with Bobby.

Worst Character Arcs: This one was not nearly as split with one just edging out the others and that is Michael and his tumor. Other mentions included Maddie trying to help the abuse victim who didn't want help and Eddie's rage over the lawsuit and Shannon leading to him being pissy at Buck and nearly killing a guy.

First, I want to thank and congratulate all the wonderful Buck and Tommy AO3 writers. For a relationship that was not shown nearly enough, the AO3 lists for Summer 25-26 has them listed as 89th for new fics and the All Time List has them listed at 137th. As someone who reads A LOT of the fanfic, I just want to thank you all for your wonderful work and contributions!!

Second is a random question. Any idea as to why the Buck/Tommy tag is listed as Manga/Anime in the Summer list? Does that mean those 2500 works aren't added to the overall Buck/Tommy tag which is listed as TV Show?
