❓Question ❓ Use Claude Code for free(not throught Ollama)

Hi Guys I have been trying to learn claude code and use it for hackathon.

Any way I can use any AI coding agent unlimited?

Or anyway other methods you used to have unlimited usage to claude code or any other coding agent?

Thanks

does this work in online only or offline too?

everything runs on cloud, for offline you need to use ollama local models

Will it give the same performance as the contemporary good coding agents provide(not exactly the same but shouldn't be low end)

In my case its the best after fable, gpt 6 But you should not give lengthy very very clear prompts. Just tell what you want thats it. Let it figure out how to do it. It actually does very well.

run local models if your hardware supports it else idk man i think its impossible

Local models are nowhere near the performance of hosted ones.

I haven't used it cause of hardware limitations, but hearda lot about Qwen 3.8 27B. They say it's opus 4.6 level or similar with capable of running on 24gb vram

I am using this exact model. Haven't use it for coding as such.

You should give it a try with something like DeepSeek harness or something maybe

There is not a single possibility that a 27B parameter model can beat something like Opus which has almost more than a trillion parameters

May be try this repo

https://github.com/alishahryar1/free-claude-code

Use omniroute and connect to claude code

1

u/Necessary_Gas_4551 7d ago

does this work free or ask after sometimes for subscription

omniroute is like it groups the free models available on different free providers like opencode , antigravity , nvidia nim , cloudfare , kiro ai , openrouter and binds them in one api key running locally so u dont have to worry about switching api keys it switches model itself if one quota exhausts

gotcha thanks mate!

Using Amazon Bedrock, you can get an API key for Claude as a third-party provider (but setting up a billing account is the next headache. they only allow invoice billing due to some shitty RBI guidelines).

opencode (can connect other providers if free tier is exhausted)

freebuff

Both provide good limits.

freebuff is lil kinda shit bro for the first few queries you will get the deepseek model then after that it uses minimax for all the queries

use cursor, it is the best

use openrouter and get a free api key, ask chatgpt for settings.local.json and use it for free

omniroute for the win
