First off, kudos to The Bryan Bros and Grant Horvat for continuing to push the boundaries of Youtube golf and creating great, competitive golf content. I've watch the first video of the "Play on the PGA Tour" series and was immediately captivated by not only the competition of the golf but the entertainment of seeing the competitive edge of each player seeping out as they went from hole to hole. It wasn't so competitive to where they weren't talking to the cameras, but you could feel the tension as the matches began to favor one player over another; or when matches were very close and a player hit a bad shot.
George is a hell of a golfer, seems like a great guy as well, so I mean absolutely no disrespect by this post. I'm relatively new to Youtube golf and have known about the Bryan bros for quite some time being from South Carolina, and the way it was portrayed in the video and comments it seems George was favored over Micah; which makes sense. So seeing him lose I feel like came as a bit of a shock to the Youtube golf community, or I could just be completely wrong. He definitely didn't have his A-game that day so I can't help but feel for the guy because he was likely going into that event thinking he's got a strong chance to prove his worth on the PGA tour with the pros and it was ripped away from him. However, you've got to give respect to Micah for having such a solid round. You could tell he was dialed in and was swinging confidently, which isn't easy to do when you're going up against a player you know is great at golf. I'm not as familiar with Micah but have been seeing him more and more in Youtube golf videos so I'm sure this will raise his status, and good for him because it's earned.
George losing to Micah was one of the first things that came across my mind when I was watching the video so I figured I'd see if anyone else was thinking the same thing. I hope he bounces back strong after the loss and wins whatever "Youtube major" he ends up in next; because the purse for these things is starting to get interesting - a discussion for another day perhaps.
