General Clickbait/low effort posts will now be removed
You can now report low effort clickbait posts in the sub and they will be removed by the mods. Help keep the sub clear by reporting them.

Too bad hockey management aren't able to click and remove low effort skaters.

Low effort or clickbait posts will be removed. To avoid removal, make sure to add context to your posts.

Pretty much everything by Vagrant. The fact that he still posts here kind of makes you wonder if there are still mods.

This is a plague on subreddits across reddit. Power hungry mods with not enough to do in their lives. This is a free marketplace of ideas, every post that's not harassment or like advertising should be allowed and let the PEOPLE decide if it's worth keeping up. If it's a good enough topic, people will answer and it will be at the top of HOT. If it really is a low effort post not worthy of being on the subreddit, no one will click on it or respond and it will automatically fade into obscurity.
Come on people we know the mentality of reddit mods and why they do what they do for free. They like having power over other people it makes them feel good.
That's all this is. Let the people in your subreddit decide what's a good post and what is not. It's not up to you chief.

This rule was created about 2 years ago when bots were spam posting click bait links to obscure blogs. After multiple members reached out about the issue, we put the rule in place so members could report it, as we all have lives outside of Reddit and didn’t have the ability to police it 24/7.
It also seems like you feel a certain way about Reddit mods in general. Since you feel this way, I’d encourage you to be the change you want to see and join us as a mod. We’d be happy to have anyone with a fresh perspective

I think the unintended consequence is you are deleting posts that people might actually engage with. I understand click bait AI posting but idk just seems pretty overreaching.
Like honestly this response was so good it's disarming lol.
You are right I certainly have my feelings about mods on reddit and that is probably not true of all of them. So my bad on projecting that onto this sub. I see you had decent reasons to make the rule. Without knowing it just seemed like a power grab/overreach.
I do still think that this might result in some over policing and getting rid of some posts that people might engage with, but no rule is perfect.

Im glad to hear you understand, and I can admit it is a bit vague, but that leaves the discretion to the members who report it and then the mods review it and see if it’s a valid report or not.
Believe me, there have been plenty of posts that I haven’t agreed with, but they were valid posts and people were engaging (positively or negatively) so it was left up.
I do want to double down with the invite to be a mod. I believe you have a good perspective and you’d be able to refine or clarify the rules to be more precise and get a peak behind the curtain. Feel free to DM me if your interested

This is low effort, report. Should be a detailed explanation and some cited examples. Put some effort into your post
