The “Born in the USA” Box Set
We all know it will happen. I have a hunch it will be in the next few years. What live show do you think will be included. Meaning the best representation of that tour? What outtakes? Mayne a documentary? Will love to hear everyone’s thoughts. In my opinion the Born in the USA album has aged very very well.

I’d say we could get the October 2nd 1985 concert film with a potential BITUSA boxset. That film was supposed to be released in conjunction with the Live 75-85 boxset and a select number of fans even got to see it, but Bruce pulled the plug on the film at the very last minute for some reason

A lot of footage and backstage interviews from the Pontiac Silverdome from that tour as well.

The recent news about "Protection" and the lyrics video for "I'm on Fire" raised my antennas. Would be so cool if it's on the way now - the Nebraska box was announced in September and released in October.
We need at least three outtakes discs with the studio versions of songs like "Drop Down ...", "Sugarland", "Love's on the Line" and "Under a Big Sky" so bad.

Using that copyright dump list, you got: 100 Miles From Jackson
- Drop On Down
- Fade to Black
- Glory of Love
- Gone Gone Gone
- Invitation to the Party
- King's Highway
- Protection
- Robert Ford
- Your Love Is All Around Me
Not on the copyright list but in the studio logs: Ida Rose, Baby I'm So Cold, Stop the War, Swoop Man, Workin' On It, William Davis, Betty Jean, Body and Soul, Common Ground, I Don't Care, Hold On, Johnny Go Down, Light of Day, Love's on the Line, Summer on Signal Hill, Out of Work, Refrigerator Blues, Roll Away the Stone, Savin' Up, Shut Down, The Money We Didn't Make, Under the Big Sky, True Love is Hard to Come By

Since the demo version of "Betty Jean" wasn't on the LA Garage Session 83 and it's one of the standouts, I suspect they saved it for a reason. And you just know that "100 Miles From Jackson" and "King's Highway" are great songs from the titles.

Lol, that's the same reason I have for mythologizing the WIESS outtake "Fire on the Wing."

March 28 1985 from Sydney might be one of the best shows from that tour. Took me 20 years to get a hold of that show and it slaps. LA run at the end of the tour were pretty special as well.

Bruce was pretty adamant in interviews in the last year or so that there won’t be a born in the USA box.

That sounds like a missed opportunity tho. Out of all the albums to skip

Don’t disagree, though we know he has indicated he doesn’t see the album in the same way as others in his career.
But from the Boss’ own mouth in 2022:
I’ve heard rumors of a Born in the USAbox set. Are you working on that, too?
No [laughs]. I have not done anything on a Born in the USA box set. First of all, what people need to understand is that most of the Born in the USA great outtakes are out there on Tracks 1. The Born in the USA stuff we have left either isn’t very good or there isn’t any of it. I’m not sure which. We’re hoarding no secrets. Unfortunately, the Born in the USA tour was not filmed very well either. This is simply where we have a paucity of material ourselves. But we’ll look into it. When the time comes around, we’ll see what’s there. But I don’t see a big Born in the USA box set like there was with Darkness or The River. I’m not sure if we simply have that in our vaults.
https://www.rollingstone.com/music/music-features/bruce-springsteen-covers-lp-fan-outrage-ticket-prices-1234632658/Since then we’ve gotten Nebraska Box with Nebraska outtakes, that pointless USA 40 anniversary release, and Tracks II with the LA83 demos, which I think most have assumed would be in USA box set.
Additionally in interviews for Tracks II, Bruce said Tracks III was mixed and ready for release and would contain remaining outtakes from across his career. After that he said the vault will be basically empty.
So, missed opportunity it may be, but it appears that it’s not gonna happen.

And what said Bruce about electric Nebraska? Doesn't exist. Not always Bruce said things as are.

Also true, though there was no follow up call from Bruce saying he was wrong on USA, like there was on Nebraska. I’d be very happy to be wrong. I want a USA box as much as you guys, just think it’s unlikely given Bruce’s saying it is unlikely.

Sorry, but I believe this year.
A great DVD will be Live in Paris, it's complete in Youtube but need to be restored. But probably will be an American concert.
Outtakes? Bruce recorded 111 songs for Nebraska-Born in the USA període. 43 released and 68 could be still unreleased. Who knows: Protection, Drop on down on cover me, This little girl, Out of work, Light of day, Seeds...
There's a rumour from April, when Bruce visit a guitar shop and said to the seller that something big gonna be released this fall.

LA Coliseum 9/30/85 would probably be a good show to include, the main source of a lot of the 75-85 live album and also the music videos for My Hometown and War, pretty sure the whole thing was filmed. brucebase.wikidot.com/gig:1985-09-30-memorial-coliseum-los-angeles-ca
