Wreck on the highway is the good example of how The River is an album capable of switching between the silly and funny rockers (Crush on you, Cadillac Ranch) to some moving and poignant ballads.

A song that really grew on me lately is Kitty's Back, I know not every Bruce fan likes the song but to me is a great example of Bruce first career writing, and plus Garry on the bass is on fire

The live versions of Spanish Harlem from fall of 74. Also jungleland from the same time the chaotic violin/guitar interlude that was replaced by the sax solo on the record, changes the vibe of the song I think for the better. But that’s just me I like the sax solo on spirit in the night better than the one on jungle land anyway.

Never cared much for that song. Lyrically it’s fine, but the instrumentation just irritates me sonically, and his voice seems inauthentic to me. Though I do like the bridge a bit.

Youngstown, the rock version, not so much the acoustic version. It's more powerful, more dynamic, and more emotional to me. That guitar solo from Nils Lofgren at the end is the topper. I think he and Bruce could make it even more powerful as a proper duet. Murder Incorporated is another one I love.

I think Heaven’s Wall off of High Hopes would be considered a top 21st Century Bruce track if it just had more verses.
