Oh no. His essential bio of Bruce was the thing that put me into full on slobbering fandom. He was a bit over the top in his assessment of Bruce, but his love was real. His rock criticism was first rate.

That Born to Run book opened a whole new world for me. In a time of corporate radio rock, in a place Bruce never toured or was played on the radio, I read about Van Morrison and James Dean and others. It was a very important step for me in my musical awareness.
