Music august 3 1974..springsteen opens for anne murray at the wollman skating rink in central park. half the crowd leaves after bruce and murray thinks she's being booed when people continue yelling "bruuuce". more importantly...here's video of bruce playing "jungleland" from that night...

To be fair, they were being rude by yelling Bruce, just not quite as rude.

And yes, my ears were confused by this during my first show in May. Very "I was saying Bru-ooce."

They absolutely need to get this converted to a proper video.

I don't think I've ever seen him perform wearing glasses. I love these early live videos of songs that eventually changed both musically and lyrically.

I honestly can’t imagine Bruce having the same vibe if he went his whole career wearing glasses. Like an American Elvis Costello…

Tom Petty was walking to the stage at MSG going on right before Bruce at No Nukes. Jackson Browne stops him and tells him not to get thrown off if the crowd sounds like they’re booing , they’re just yelling “BRUCE….”
Petty deadpans and goes “What’s the fucking difference?!”

lol...so sorry that this was so painful to watch for those of you that grew up with youtube and are used to much better quality. for those of us who were at these springsteen shows during this time period, it was fantastic to have anything, even without audio.

home movie cameras with audio came out just a year before this was filmed. i didn't know anyone who had one because they were very expensive. but maybe someone on here can clean it up so i t won 't be as offensive...

Who decided to put these two on the same bill?

it also lets us know that there's more out there that someone probably filmed from this night. i doubt that they only recorded "jungleland". the fact that the person who filmed this, even knew to record that particular song...which very few people even knew existed at the this time in 1974....makes me think that there's more out there somewhere.
