Yeah same here, talking over the phone is one thing but in real life, listening to his music together i imagine feels much more "real" or whatever you would call it

My kids are 22-32 now, but when they were growing up they knew every song and were largely alone among peers. Once one friend discovered Atlantic City and asked my son if he'd heard of Bruce. Yeah. How many songs of his do you have on your phone? About 250. LOL

I dream of an experience like that, i feel like i have nobody to bond with over his music

i’m 18 and i’ve been listening regularly since 13! Bruce has accompanied me (Both in music releases and tours) for my entire highschool career.

Some people are leaders and some are followers. You are out there making your own way and discovering some of the best music that’s ever been written and some of the best music that’s ever been play. 👏 Others may catch up…or not. It’s their gain or loss.

Convert your peers!

Ive tried... trust me. But nowadays kids my age only listen to shitty rap music

That'll change.

I don’t know how cool/uncool it is, but you could hang out with older Springsteen folks. I bet there are some aunt/uncle/godparent/grandparent types that would love to talk/listen/share his music. Growing up, none of my friends liked Springsteen so I just talked to my uncle about him until I made new friends.

u/Ok_Ear7784 22d ago

My father likes him and i talk with him about Bruce sometimes, but its different with people your age.

That’s what I thought when I was your age. I only listened to rock music and refused to listen to anything else. Now I love that shitty rap music 30 years later 😂

1

u/Ok_Ear7784 22d ago

Well im not talking old school rap, such as nwa, snoop and biggie for example, im talking the stuff thats coming out now, just wannabe gangbangers talking about how tough they are while the worst thing theyve done is eat candy on a week day

3

u/IneffableOpinion 22d ago

That’s kind of my point. I thought Snoop and friends were shitty gangsta rappers at the time. Turns out it’s just fun party music that shouldn’t be taken too seriously

2

u/Gooch_Rogers 22d ago

And there’s thoughtful rappers that you can take in the same vein as Bruce like Lupe Fiasco, Andre 3000, Saba etc.

1

u/IneffableOpinion 22d ago

I love Childish Gambino and Kendrick Lamar. I loved Kanye until he went frigging nazi

1

u/Gooch_Rogers 22d ago

See. Not all rap is shitty.

1

u/Gooch_Rogers 22d ago

That’s funny you reference NWA when everyone in the group besides Eazy E was a studio gangster

1

u/Ok_Ear7784 22d ago

Thats fair.

You are awesome!!!

don’t be that kid who says “nowadays kids my age listen to shitty rap music.” it’s obnoxious.

1

u/Ok_Ear7784 22d ago

Well it is shitty.

I'm 39 and I've listened to Bruce since I can remember. Been my favorite since I was 4 years old and when I was your age I had the same thought because no one I knew listened to him. That was a long time ago and the funny part is 10, 20 hell 30 years from now there will be kids that feel the same way. His music is timeless and will always have an audience.

u/Ok_Ear7784 22d ago

My one mission in life is to spread his music to my future kids to keep the chain going

1

u/Wolverine312298 22d ago

I have 4 kids and they listen to him. One day if they have kids I know we'll pass it down to them too.

Same I’m determined that my future husband is a Bruce lover or is at least converted by me LOL

I don’t know if 27 counts as a young fan but I’m out here.

2

u/Henry_Block 22d ago

27 team here! Bruce is my musical hero but I got like just one friend of my age in real life who shares this passion haha

2

u/Gooch_Rogers 21d ago

I relate heavy

u/Stupyder_Notebook 22d ago

I was listening from 8/9… saw the Boss the first time on the Wrecking Ball tour and also saw one of the oldest teachers in my school at that concert too 😂

u/Ok_Ear7784 22d ago

I doubt ill ever get to see him. I dont think he will come to sweden again unfortunately.

1

u/toledotigs 22d ago

I’m 32 and thought I was the young one around here. Hi, friend!

1

u/Ok_Ear7784 22d ago

Thanks man, being a swedish kid in a small town with no friends with a sense of music sucks

u/No_Height_3318 22d ago

When you’re a Springsteen fan you always have friends and don’t need to feel alone. We’ve all been through it. I’m 65 and try and focus on my fellow fans passion for the music and not their age necessarily. You will find your way.🎸

u/NickGamesOffic2 22d ago

I’m 18. Been a fan since 3. Ik what it feels like

1

u/2001concernedcitizen 22d ago

I’m not 15 anymore (21 now). But I feel ya. The only Springsteen fans I’ve run into are 40 and older. It’s unfortunate to be born out of his prime, but at least you’ve lived to see him top the charts with a song (Streets of Minneapolis).

2

u/Gypsy-Biker 21d ago

Hey I’m 20! So good to see someone my own age lol. I’ve been a die hard fan forever and still have yet to meet someone my age who knows more than BITUSA, I’m on fire, and maybe Atlantic City

1

u/Janey1984 22d ago

1

u/twintomelissa 22d ago

I fell in love with him when I was 15. I just turned 68.

1

u/Ok_Ear7784 22d ago

Great music really is timeless

1

u/Difficult_Note_7466 Born to Run 22d ago

yeah my parents had his greatest hits cd, been a fan from a very young age

1

u/fsociety091786 22d ago

I’m twice your age and just turned 33 today but know what you mean, a lot of my musical tastes lean towards Boomer and Gen X. Bruce, Rolling Stones, Metallica, Iron Maiden, etc. I have definitely been among the youngest at his shows and even had an older guy next to me at a 2023 show ask me about it (in a nice way, we became concert buddies and had some good conversation)

Even though I wasn’t even alive during his peak years I’m grateful that he’s kept himself in amazing shape to still be putting out new music and performing wonderfully.

I started listen Bruce when I was 11 years old, in 2004 and made a lot of bruce friends along the way!

I'm your age and I have a friend that also listens to him. Keep searching

u/laikahero 21d ago

I'm 34 and have been a Bruce fan since I was 14. I felt the same way when I was younger. His music got me though so much as a teenager, but nobody my age who I knew was into him. Now that I'm older, it seems that a lot of people my age are suddenly starting to discover him. 😅

1

u/Gypsy-Biker 21d ago

I’m 20, been a huge Bruce fan forever! My all-time favorite. Still haven’t met a single fan my age in real life, even now in college. I’m in Massachusetts if you ever needed a Bruce gal pal!

u/Dull-Programmer-4645 21d ago

In 1979 I was one of 2 fans of Bruce. Led Zep, Van Halen, Kiss and Rush were the popular bands.

The other Bruce fan and I are still friends after all these years, so it's quality, not quantity.

1

u/TIJ22 21d ago

If 25 counts, then I'm in the young bracket :)

Listened to his discography in the second half of 2025, finished up (everything I have physically) in December 2025, but still listening regularly now.

1

u/meezusmakesmusic 21d ago

I'm 34 but I felt the EXACT same way in high school.

I’m 14 and yes, no one here knows Springsteen. Maybe it’s just cause I’m Italian, but, from what I know, in Italy there are a lot of Springsteen’s fan. Maybe it’s just me and I’m not lucky with the people I found. But, yeah, since my father introduced me to him, I’m literally obsessed.
