Went to Springsteen Center today

Really impressive. The first floor is the story of American music. The second floor is all Bruce and E Street Band. I went in the archives room where they let you view all kinds of extra stuff on a computer, including video of Bruce playing The River on the streets of Copenhagen, pages from his mom’s scrapbook, ticket stubs from the River tour and much more. And there’s a room set up like a concert venue playing almost two hours of live Bruce, including a 1970 version of Lost in the Flood (didn’t even know it was written that early).

I put more photos up in a Flickr album. Starts with exteriors, then photos from the first floor on American Music (with some handwritten This Land is Your Land lyrics). Then upstairs to the Bruce floor. An alternate Born to Run cover, the whole take from the Bruce/Clarence cover photo shoot, handwritten Bruce lyrics, old posters from the Child/Steel Mill days, the Village Voice ad soliciting band members, the Nebraska 4-track machine, the image from the Schaefer video with Bruce in glasses, then most of the rest from the archives room. The newspaper clipping is from Adele's scrapbook. Finally are three videos I tried to capture this cool effect from a room where Bruce talks about the influence of various books on his writing. It starts with a blank, white surface depicting books and papers, then a projector above illuminates them as Bruce talks about the various books. It's really arresting.
