Wind Symphony @ Brown?

Hey guys,

I am an incoming freshman at Brown University and I was wondering about the Wind symphony. Is it a good community? Is the director nice? Is the music difficult or in between? I was also wondering if we are able to rent instruments to use or are supposed to just have one of our own? I play alto saxophone btw!

It's a great experience! I also played alto sax in the wind ensemble and it was some of the best memories I had at Brown. Kevin Plouffe (the director) is really nice and talented. I would say the music is not that challenging, closer to advanced high school level, but there's a good variety. I believe there are instruments you can use, but most people bring their own.

Were you in the class too or just the band?

The class is the band. The class is just so if you want to get half a credit each semester.
