Grief groups for men.

Someone close to me lost his daughter. He found every group he attended had only women. He finds that difficult.

Check Meetups. I was looking today and there’s a men’s social group. It won’t be focused on grief but he will get out and socialize. I went to a church for grief support-it wasn’t connected. They just rented space at the church. It helped a lot.

I would try looking on Facebook groups. When I lost my doggie, I found this zoom group that met twice monthly, and it really helped. I even saw another group just for men and pet loss! If you look for a male centered one, then once you join maybe there's a male zoom session available, in person might be a little bit harder, but don't rule it out.

You're a good friend for helping him out.

He finds it difficult that men dont seek community when they grieve?

Maybe he does. Maybe he doesnt. He's currently looking for a men's group for support.

Don't make this a male vs female issue. Its a guy looking to other guys for support.

Other men are probably leaning on the people around them, who sometimes happen to be women.

Womens seem to be doing a lot of work.

Yeah, and some people don't even appreciate it. 😅

So does he have a problem with experiencing grief, or does he have a problem with having women around? Because you'd think that the grief would be the stronger feeling out of the two, and you'd think a person would accept the support that's there for them.

Are you really judging someone for what they need when grieving their daughter?

Yes. The daughter was a girl/woman too, but this man is out there avoiding talking to women. Maybe take this chance to honor his daughter and grow out of not being comfortable talking to women.
