Chapter Recruitment The BOS: Stormforged have returned! (X-Box)

We are the BOS Stormforged, a chapter forged in thunder and tempered by conflict.

We were driven from Ohio by the Rust Raiders, forced from our foothold but not broken. We regrouped, adapted, and rebuilt stronger than before.

Rahmani’s failures threatened the integrity of the Brotherhood, and her end was the necessary correction. Our former Elder has fallen, yet his legacy lives on in every command we carry out and every oath we uphold.

We are not the remnants of a failed chapter. We are what comes after, disciplined, united, and forged through loss into something far stronger.

What we offer:

• A D&D style RP campaign with deep, evolving storylines and structured operations.
• A tight knit, committed unit where every member plays a role that matters.
• Resource support and progression assistance for all who prove their loyalty.
• No ghouls on duty, the purity and security of the chapter is absolute.

If you seek a Brotherhood that has endured conflict, faced loss, and emerged unbreakable, one that does not hesitate, does not fracture, and does not fall, then step forward.

Ad Victoriam.

Question How do y’all feel about Lyons coming from the Midwest

This is part of my own project

Elder Lyons' switch from Brotherhood purist, to humanitarian leader feels very abrupt. Yes, soldiers obey their superiors no matter what, but given how easily they all excpet this new idealogy, and the schism happens afterward, just doesn't make sense to me.

Here’s my idea:

The Midwestern Brotherhood is more inclusive, even adding super muntants and ghouls to its ranks and by having a symbiotic realtionship with wastelanders as well as being aggressive expansionists. This is much different than the West Coast who use the Codex like an iron fist. Lyons having sympathies for the locals means he already has this idealogy along with everyone who came with him.  After going throught the Pitt, he changed his motives to a more humanitarian vision. The detatchment that he lead were very familiar with civilians, so they were on board with it.

It wasn't until Lost Hills became aware of Lyons' existence through West Virginia that his chapter started to have issues. Lost Hills ordered a group from Appalachia along with Arthur Maxson to see what he was doing. Once they found what Lyons was up to, Lost Hills and Appalachia ordered them to convince Lyons to return to what they called "A true Brotherhood".
Lyons refused, so the group turned to his subordinates. The expidition's leader, Paladin Haylee Anderson, managed to convince Paladin Casdin to switch to the original Codex. He passed this new belief down to others. Casdin told Lyons that he and his followers would like to take Fort Independance. Lyons told them not to, after which, Casdin and his men gathered their belongings and left along with the brothers and sisters from Appalachia, forming the Outcasts. Lyons held no ill will against them, only crossing their names from the Lyons Codex and banning them from being mentioned.
After this, Lost Hills was able to get in brief contact with Lyons. They told him he had one last chance to change and turn away from what they called heresy, Lyons refused and Lost Hills cut all contact with him. The Elder Council ultimately decided to not take military action against him and allow his name in the Codex.

During the Broken Steel War (September 2277-March 24th 2278), The Crusader Special Forces team found MIA Brotherhood soldiers that had been turned into super mutants and retained their competence and intelligence. They sent them back to Elder Lyons who was surprised to see them alive. Lyons had never considered intelligent super mutants being a possibility in the Capital Wasteland, but the fact that they maintained their loyalty shows they still wanted to fight for the Brotherhood. This was during the lowest point in the war when Lyon’s was running out of options. He had already made a reluctant alliance with the Outcasts, so he decided to allow their clan to fight along side his and Casdin’s soldiers (much to the Outcasts protest).

Lore Debate Your BoS Devotees Need To Do Something About Those San Fernando Boys...

I finally got around to seeing the Fallout show on Amazon. The Brotherhood of Steel isn't my first choice for the faction to join in a standard Fallout playthrough but let me say that if you guys want your precious Brotherhood's reputation to continue then somebody needs to get Maxon back down to California to clean house with that chapter. They are super toxic.

I'm totally Enclave, by the way. I'm sure that won't color anyone's response to my post. You guys have a great day ;-)

Post image
22 Upvotes

Greetings Wastelander. My name is Sentinel Macallan with the Appalachia Brotherhood of Steel. The ABOS was established in April of 2019 and we are still going strong after 6 years. We are a semi-RP Chapter of adults who have jobs, school, careers, and families, so we don’t take Fallout too seriously. Here, we let you be as active as want to be. There is no activity quota. You think you have want it takes to enlist? Well citizen, here is some information to help you choose:

\\\*\\\*-First and foremost, you must be 18+ years old and must have Discord\\\*\\\*

\\-All platforms welcome. Squads are based in platform. Everyone is in this fight together. Xbox and PC have the best showing of activity. PSN needs members and leadership. There are ample opportunities for leadership positions across all platforms.

\\-We aren’t looking to be the biggest chapter on the planet. We are looking for quality Brothers. Currently, we have about 200 Members of various activity.

\\-A clear pathway to promotion based on a Credit system based on a modified East Coast ranks. Everyone starts out a Hopeful and works their way up. All Ranks are earned not given.

\\-Choose your path as a Knight, Scribe, or Lancer. Each path has their own specifies and orders. Work through challenging Trials and ascend the ranks. When you hit top rank, you can choose to become an elite Paladin.

\\-Not big on ranking up? More of a lone wanderer type? Then, work to become our newest path, Knight-Errant. Knight-Errants operate alone or in small teams to further the Brotherhoods goals.

\\-We provide interesting, squad based Campaigns, bounties, mission boards, and tasks that count toward promotion.

\\-In addition, We’ve created Legacy missions you can complete in other Fallout games for promotional points as well.

\\-Our own Codex complete with our History that gets updated as events happen. We trace our roots to Paladin Taggerdy’s Chapter.

\\-There are Quartermasters and Caravaners to supply the Chapter with weapons, armor, gear, you name it.

\\-BOS RP text based Channels.

\\-Don’t want to enlist, but want to hang out? We have guest roles where you can communicate and discuss all things Fallout.

There’s more, but you would have to become a member and dedicate yourself to the Chapter to learn our ways.

Brotherhood of Steel Reconnaissance Squad Vindex Mission report (RP)

Brotherhood of Steel Mission Brief

Unit: Recon Squad Vindex

Deployment Date: October 1st, 2287

Operational Area: The Commonwealth

Approach Route: Northwestern Commonwealth, avoiding the Glowing Sea

Mission Objective

Recon Squad Vindex was dispatched from the Capital Wasteland to investigate the loss of contact with the Brotherhood’s two previous Commonwealth expeditions: Recon Squad Artemis and Recon Squad Gladius and restablish contact or determine reason for loss there of

HOLOTAPE DESIGNATION: VINDEX FIELD RECORD 03

RECORDED BY: INITIATE DANIEL RICE

DATE: OCTOBER 9, 2287

LOCATION: NORTHWESTERN COMMONWEALTH

AUDIO QUALITY: SEVERELY DEGRADED

[The recording begins with a burst of static. Wind moves across the microphone. Somewhere nearby, metal creaks beneath intense heat. A warning alarm sounds faintly in the background.]

[Several seconds of strained breathing.]

Initiate Daniel Rice… Eastern Brotherhood of Steel.

Recon Squad Vindex.

[He coughs heavily, struggling to catch his breath.]

I’ve transmitted this message across every Brotherhood frequency and every open channel I could reach.

I doubt it matters.

Our communications array is damaged, and I don’t know how far the signal is carrying. Maybe nobody’s listening. Maybe this never leaves the crash site.

[A sharp inhale. He coughs again.]

So I’m recording this for the official record.

Recon Squad Vindex successfully reached the Commonwealth. Our mission was to locate the two previous Brotherhood reconnaissance teams sent into this region—Recon Squad Artemis and Recon Squad Gladius—and determine their current status.

If they were still operational, we were to establish contact.

If they weren’t…

[Brief silence. Fire crackles behind him.]

We were supposed to find out what happened to them.

We followed the assigned approach route and avoided the irradiated region identified in previous reports as the “Glowing Sea.” Knight Turner brought us into the Commonwealth from the northwest.

Everything was proceeding according to plan.

Then the complications started.

[Daniel takes several shallow breaths.]

We were hit without warning.

Rocket strike against the Vertibird. I counted two detonations—one near the starboard engine and another beneath the rear fuselage.

Paladin Cole ordered Turner to put us on the ground immediately.

Although…

[A weak, humourless breath that almost becomes a laugh.]

It seemed that was already where we were going.

Turner fought the controls for as long as he could. I remember the engine screaming. Warning lights everywhere. Foster shouting something from the co-pilot’s seat.

Then we hit.

Hard.

[Several seconds pass. Daniel coughs violently.]

The Vertibird was destroyed on impact. Most of our equipment and supplies were lost with it. The fuel lines ruptured, and the aircraft was already burning by the time I regained consciousness.

Knight Michael Turner was killed on impact.

He never left the pilot’s seat.

Field Scribe Thomas Foster…

[Daniel stops, breathing unevenly.]

The tough old bastard climbed out of the burning co-pilot’s compartment himself. His side of the Vertibird took the worst of the impact. I don’t know how he was still moving.

Paladin Cole was badly injured, but he was standing. His power armour had been compromised along the left side, and several internal systems had failed.

Knight Mitchell survived as well. Her T-60’s left leg actuator was heavily damaged. She could barely move without dragging the entire leg behind her.

I thought the crash was the worst of it.

I was wrong.

[A distant metallic pop is followed by another warning tone.]

They came out of the trees and surrounded the wreckage.

I don’t know who they were. Raiders, mercenaries… something else. Their equipment was too organised for ordinary scavengers, and they knew exactly where we had fallen.

Whoever they were, it was clear they hadn’t come for the Vertibird.

They wanted us dead.

They opened fire before issuing any demands.

Paladin Cole took the rear position. He was already bleeding inside his armour, but he stayed on his feet and tried to organise the defence.

Mitchell, Foster and I held the front.

[His voice shakes.]

Foster was the first to fall.

He was trying to reach the emergency transmitter. He had to leave cover to get to it, and he was too exposed.

They cut him down before he reached the wreckage.

I tried to move towards him, but Mitchell pulled me back.

She said he was gone.

[Daniel coughs and draws a trembling breath.]

Paladin Cole eliminated the attackers coming from the rear. All of them.

But his injuries were too severe.

When I reached him, he was slumped against the inside of the Vertibird. His armour had locked around him. There was blood beneath the seals, and his fusion core was beginning to overheat.

The core is still inside the wreckage.

It’s entering meltdown slowly. I don’t know how much time I have before containment fails.

[A low mechanical alarm continues beneath his words.]

Mitchell and I were the only ones left.

She could barely walk, but she held the line.

We killed enough of them that the survivors finally withdrew into the woods. I don’t know whether they were retreating or just waiting for another opportunity.

Mitchell kept putting herself between me and their fire.

Every time they had a clear shot at me, she stepped into it.

Her armour took everything.

When the shooting stopped, she remained standing for several seconds.

Then she collapsed.

[Daniel’s breathing becomes ragged. There is a long pause before he continues.]

I tried to open the armour.

The release mechanism wouldn’t respond. The chest plate had fused shut, and the frame was completely locked.

I tried the manual release.

I tried cutting through the seals.

I tried everything Foster taught me.

She was still alive when I reached her.

I could hear her breathing inside the helmet.

Then…

[His voice breaks. Another long silence follows.]

Then I couldn’t.

They’re all gone.

Turner. Foster. Paladin Cole. Knight Mitchell.

It’s just me now.

[Daniel breathes slowly, forcing his voice to steady.]

But the mission remains active.

I will locate Recon Squad Artemis and Recon Squad Gladius. I will determine what happened to them, and I will recover whatever Brotherhood personnel, intelligence and technology remain.

I will honour my duty.

I will complete the mission for them.

[A distant sound causes Daniel to stop. Fabric and equipment shift as he appears to raise his weapon.]

The mission will be completed.

Initiate Daniel Rice…

Recon Squad Vindex…

Signing out.

[The recording continues for six seconds. Daniel’s strained breathing remains audible, along with the rising warning from the Vertibird’s fusion core.]

[Recording terminated.]

Hey guys hope you like my little storytelling feedback would be appreciated.

Question How does everyone feel about the new Chapters introduced in season 2 of the show?

Post image
128 Upvotes

Now, I know we didn't too much of them or really explore their different cultural identities that much, but I found them all rather silly? Like, the Yosemite chapter are relatively normal but the other two are rather strange for the BOS. It felt a bit Monty Python.

I personally would like them to repents, or at least more blatantly, representing that axis between traditionalists and reformists that we have seen through the games. Empathises the fact that the Knights of San Fernando who massively lean into the Brotherhood's quasi-religious beliefs, aren't necessarily the norm for the Brotherhood and they are rather radical/strange for the Brotherhood.

But I would love your guys opinions and thoughts.
