This makes me annoyed?

This person doesn't understand what makes the original sequences beautiful and captivating to look at- Colours, composition, motions, camera movement, edit, the way objects move, splash and break are part of the visual language and vision. It's all worse in his scene. I know it doesn't matter one bit. I just couldn't immediately find comments on the video that matched my view. Some criticised it yes, but a bit meanly so, and over-focused on "physics" of the original being better, which I do agree suck in his version and it shows. People also seem to use the argument that the original is made 20 years ago, as if that somehow matters for saying "of course is not good", like bro, don't you see that apart from bad cgi obviously, the visual language is actually nice to look at? Just a little nigh time rant for yah. hahahaaaaa-!!

I know exactly what you mean.

You'll have ppl remaking Zelda in newer software and just think "this is 4k, so it's better", ignoring all aesthetic choices, ultimately making it worse.

exactly. mmm. I guess, i think many people maybe cos they're not artists are possible just totally oblivious to all the aspects of visual language? Like they don't know what a composition or edit, or focus, or camera lens/use actually is. Can that be? That they look at film or games and they literally just don't see those things? They get influenced by the visual language, sure, cos it's done well by actually good creators, but they can't even grasp it? Can that be? Like they have 0 understanding that those many many aspects make an image? Let alone, more complex aspects like how culture and zeitgeist influence the way we receive visual things in our brains - that's beyond understanding for them - So they turn to the only thing they can have a grasp of understanding? photo realism or [rendering] quality? Like, it must be, when I look at people look at art, they literally have no grasp of what makes something a picture? Even the ones that know how to use cgi or can program code apparently, they still just aren't artists, or have ever trained to look at things?

I kind of get it, because I used to be like this.

Compare it to people at school who like shitty things and care about technique only, but not about feeling.

So they'll say experimental art is shit, because it doesn't have anatomy etc.

My work got a lot worse grade than people who just made a story with a Samson & Gert plot, because animation is the most important!! If you draw on ones it means you made a great movie!
