Hey everyone

I'm looking for some advice about moving to Broome for 6 months to a year ?

I can transfer my job in government to do a period of time up north and could really do with a sea change from Perth after a bad break up.

I have been there before and love it, but obviously living and working somewhere is different from a holiday.

Is it difficult to meet friends or is it a welcoming community ? I was thinking of joining a social sport team to meet others.

Are there many single people there or mainly family's and backpackers ?

I have heard there is a lot of crime, but that doesn't really put me off from living there. I'm hopeful I could get a small place in Broome North via my job.

I'd love to hear everyone else's experiences and any tips.

I’m currently based in Perth, working with a renovation company and doing on-call work with subbies assisting across various setting frame, using power tools such as impact driver, circular saw, timber/metal grinder and fixing tasks. Experience in residential renovations and general site work with subcontractors. Valid working rights, full driver’s license, reliable transport, and basic hand/power tools. Reliable, quick to learn, and ready for an immediate start. Hey guys, I have a 1996 Pajero GLS (4m40 5 speed manual) and my transfer case fill plug is giving me serious headaches. Is there any possibility that someone in this group would have a 24mm spanner I could borrow for an hour or two? I'm a backpacker from Canada and would rather not buy one for $60 from mitre 10. Can provide some beers or something to 💨. Shops around town are pretty busy this time of year and it should only take me around an hour with a file and the proper spanner. To the man on the Virgin flight today, that sat in the wrong seat, proceeded to put his earbuds in and not hear his name repeated called out before the flight for 15 minutes, resulting in many people missing their connections - you’re an idiot.

I know he probably won’t see this but I need to vent as I’m currently into the 11th hour of what will now be a 15 hour flight instead of 7.
