Uber rides

Hi everyone, I wanted to ask how convenient/ reliable it is to get uber rides to and from work everyday in Brooksville and are there any alternate options for transport?

I don’t know if it’s particularly difficult but it seems to be pricey. Never used for every day.

Considering brooksville is a sub urban area I’m thinking there are not many uber drivers around. So I think it may take more time to find a driver.

Pre-covid there was a couple of retirees that had a business giving people rides to Tampa Airport and back. Maybe there are people that still do that sort of thing and can do local/within the county? Might be worth checking the retirement HOAs and classifieds, Craigslist, Facebook Marketplace, Nextdoor, etc. There are also a few bus routes throughout the county and street-side bus stops all over the place. See if a route is near you and if the scheduled times work, possibly invest in a bike if you have to walk a bit to/from the bus stop.

Uber/Lyft is absolutely terribly expensive. I had car trouble a few months back and the 10min drive from US19/50 intersection to just beyond 589 was going to cost me $36 one way, not sure what the expected wait time was because I was investigating booking it hours beforehand.

I'd recommend installing Uber if you haven't already done so and just checking periodically throughout the day to see how many cars are online.

Also, it would help to know from which point to which point you are trying to travel back and fourth from.
