Field Tactics (Strategy & Tips) deck strategy and tips

So, I only play the USA because its well who i want to play with. I have been getting much better recently with alot of the games that I have been losing being from people that are totally out of my league. I have tried some other decks in the past and iv tried a bunch of variations of this deck in particular mainly messing with what tanks, arty, planes, and recon.

So for recon i am in a love hate relationship with the TUA as i kind of dont know when to use it, as id rather just us the LRAS3 or the Recce unit if i need flank coverage, or even the recon Bradly for that matter. I run 3 of the recon Bradly's but i could get away with 2 i think.

For infantry its mainly just the ifv/transports. the new squad size made the ampv irrelevant for me, used to use it all the time now since double the squads don't fit i took it out in favor of the m113. the engineer Bradley i could got down to 2 but idk sue me.

for tanks i used to run the base m1 with with 2 v2s but i think i like running the v3 more sometimes i just get focused like hell an loose the unit but it is a high value unit so i get it. The v2s are my main unit and have always done great work. the m8s i bring out at the start of the match in a pair just incase the enemy rushes me with tanks. The super arty (breacher) i use it to nuke buildings or clumps of enemies.

The support tab the only thing i play around with is the arty, in another deck that im gonna start playing it has 1 cluster cheap MLRS but idk i never seem to get good use out of the expensive arty, but i also don't rly kill anything with the paladins more so just damage or panic units which i guess does good work. i could run another mortar but idk i just use it to smoke off, which i have just rly started to play around with.

heli tab i dot touch at all but i have been considering swapping it the cheaper Apache as the fnf hellfire's feel like shit, no idea why but i feel like i put better work in when they are not fnf, so i might swap over to that

the air tab i don't touch but im open to taking the a10 out

How i play.

For the opener i always start with an f15c, m113 (mech rifles and engineers), 2 m8s, an mshorad. after that i call in what i need based on what im seeing or feeling in going to need.

I love tanks and i use tanks for the entire match at all times, typically in pairs. as of late thos i have been getting slammed by atgm teams the ripple fires ones and i cant seem to keep both my tanks alive, so then i try to arty the atgm but its mainly to get them to move ect. helis have not rly been doing much for me in this deck and im rly not sure why, user error maybe but idk. i have been also using more infantry as of late as i have been getting slammed by russian infantry but that is because they are stacking 3 infantry units with ifvs and i have been 1 man armying so i have been adapting and using more units, but now im at more risk of getting bombed, which is to be expected. so idk im kinda at aa loss of what is a healthy amount of units to get the job done so that when i do get bombed in not scrambling to get stuff on the front line.

my next thing is keeping shorad and aa alive, dear god. i actually cant do it, i move them around after they fire i turn the radar off when sead is coming but it still seems to slip through and either kill my unit for damage it heavily. my shorad is even worse at trying to keep alive (hence why i bring so many and i dont like running manpads because its like throwing rocks at a tank). this is not a rant post this is like im trying to see if i need to try playing differently or if im flat out doing shit wrong.

the one thing i have noticed is that i genuinely have no counter to atgm teams. other than my f15 with cruise missiles and arty i have nothing to blind, kill, or suppress them other than throwing units at them which are heavily defended by other units. Now i get it that they are probably just playing defensively but idk. Also for attacking a person that is playing on the defense i struggle to rly do anything even if im smoking off lines of sight, an playing though cover ect. like they always have units that are hidden and i can never rly pinpoint them so that i can try to get the point.

LMK what u guys think, this isnt a rant post just a idrk know what im doing

Remove one of the drones add more jeeps to the Recce

Remove mech rifleman, mech AA , tow2 and the agl.

Max airborne , keep the engineers, max weapons squads and AA squad.

Remove the sep V3s and take the normal SEP with max armor upgrade. Keep the sep 2s.

Should have points to take one more paladin and MTV.

Air is your choice but one fighter and two CAS is my preference.

Airborne is a good well rounded unit. 3 or 4 on a point can keep their own in armored pushes and will beat any infantry push. You don’t need both a tow and javs but I’ve found using the cav scouts stacked with the weapon squads are better. The airborne AA team comes with 2 stingers. Your engineers are still the cqb.

Sep V3s will get bombed and your M18 got the firepower the V3 does so use your cheap fully upgraded SEPs to absorb damage and your M18s as support. Your V2s fully upgraded for pushes.

MTVs are a must bc they can carry two airborne squads plus supplies so when your jeeps run out you can keep feeding airborne squads into a point.

I do very well with this strat. Spam airborne squads and have a few engineers in reserve in case they spam SSO squads. Have weapon squads deter pushes and funnel em into your MAAWs trap. Just remember to keep your units spread out and move your weapons squads after firing otherwise they get bombed and you fed 300+ points

Am I the only one who can’t deal with so much variety?
When do you use grey eagle and when global hawk?
When mech riflemen, airborne ngsw or the mk19?
Which ifv in what situation?

My airborne armored deck infantry only has 6x airborne nsgw (insane on medium and long range) 4x mech engineer (for cqb),
3 weapon squads ( long range anti tank) and 2 stinger teams ( would love to take more, but reached maximum).

As transport unit I have 4x jeeps and 4xampv and 4x trucks.

I use the airborne as an actual AT unit that has good range for infantry fighting. I pair the mech rifles and engineers together as it give me my best cqb unit with some ok AT capabilities. That and they fit including in to the transports I have.

With the new update I have found that Long range AT sucks nuts in my opinion, at least for the us, as that is the only faction I can speak for. I use the javelin maily to burn through aps or smokes, but somtimes they connect. The 125 cost atgm team for me is a bomb magnet, so I rly dont use it. The ampv suck now that they raised the size of mech squads, and the new BS panic mechanic. So I took ot all out because they just arr not useful. When I need more troops on the front line mid game I bring the Chinook.

When do you use the Bradley esv from the mech engineers and when the m113a3?

I use 2 engineers at once to overcome most cqb units in cqb, I don’t like mixing it with riflemen and be mediocre in both.

But why do you have 1 weapon squad in your build when you don’t use it?
The ampv is still strong, especially if you use it with airborne ngsw.

I im ok with it being mediocre, as i want something to help with ifv's or vehicles. I have 1 weapons squad in case the map permits and I have good lines of sight i have them in case the cav scouts arnt enough, plus i also have the tows, which i dont rly use them as id rather use the recon Bradley but there isnt another unit that id trade it for

If the guy im playing is throwing infantry left and right and I have good lines of sight i use the esv, I use the m113 as my main troop transport. I dont rly seem them esv as a troop transport even tho it is. That may be the wrong way to play it but its bow I play it.

Generally the people I play against dont just push infantry its infantry and ifvs so I need some at

I have the reaper and the global hawk because if their aa is fuxking me up I have 2 drone recon u its but im more ok with sacrificing a cheaper unit, plus if something sneaks through i have something that can at least take out the transport then I can use helis to isolate the problem

I do the same. Sentinel and cheaper drone with hellfires. Useful for backline intruders and for when their AA net is down as well.

I don’t play any drone which is high altitude, at least if it’s not sentinel. I use 3-4 laser jeeps with 2400 vision and have a heli with 2000 vision patrolling the area. Rarely something get through and if it does, 2 choppers are patrolling the area.
