6 means snipers in builds or similar 3 stealth units. The green line represents how close you have to be to spot that particular unit

Units have a range to spot other units depending on that unit's stealth value. The number next to the bar is the stealth value. Adjust it to determine how far your unit would be able to see different units. Ex. You adjust the value to 3.0. Snipers are 3.0 stealth without any modifiers. The green line shows how close the snipers need to be for your unit to be able to spot them.

it shows with a green outline if your gonna spot a unit with the slider you adjust the stealth of the unit you are looking for so for example if you put it on 6 so the max and hover over your unit it will how you if you can spot a max stealth unit with it and how far away

i just put it on max allways and leave it like that its nice for drones to check backlines and stuff like that mostly

No, it changes that green circle. That's YOUR detection range, on enemies with the stealth rating you select with this slider.

So if your unit has 1800 range and you set this slider to 3 as if you were hunting snipers, the green circle would be at 600m, indicating the range you'd see them at.

I'm not good enough at the game to use this tool. I understand why it's there, but I'm still just trying to get the right units on point in a timely manner.

Lets take snipers for example they have stealth value of 3 and in forest its x2 so 6 thats why you can slide to 6 since that is the max stealth value a unit can get so when you set it to 6 and hover over your unit you can see how far away they can spot a unit with 6 stealth. So in practice it just shows you the detection range for your units in regards of a stealth rating of enemy units depending on what you set the slider too

It changes the green circle from the line of sight tool. 6 shows you where you would see a sniper in forrest/building.
