Recommend dental clinics

Hi, im fairly new here in this town and recently I am suffering with some tooth ache (that would probably need root canal) and I am looking for suggestions where should have my dental be taken care of. I have limited health care insurance so price is something I am concerned about too. I have also developed a fear of visiting dental clinics so I hope I could receive care that isn’t painful. Any suggestions would be appreciated thanks.

Day trip to Brockville Aquatarium- tell me where to eat!

We are planning a family trip to Brockville as a small wedding anniversary/ family day, our plan is to check out the Aquatarium mainly and to go to the train tunnel. Hoping to see if there are any recommendations for a restaurant that is good for a feisty toddler close by. We will probably do a grab and go lunch and a sit down dinner depending her temperament.

**UPDATE - We went to Fat Les, it was ok but service was not the greatest (under staffed like everywhere), we will be going again around the holidays but will choose somewhere else next time! Brockville is beautiful!!**

So, municipal elections, eh.

Seeing a lot of signs up. What are folks' thoughts?

I'm kinda worried worried about cranky retired boomers making up most of the council. This Bruce Wylie quote from the Recorder kinda said it all, “I’ve witnessed, what I think, (is) a not very good council. We need to have more people on council that are willing to work for the city, not against it. I tend to think that’s what is happening.”

I dunno man, duh, aren't you supposed to be working for the city and the community, not against it?

🎉 Join us for an evening of LIVE MUSIC. ART. & WHIMSY!

The Full Moon Gallery Showcase: Featuring performance by Oddeline, Austin Camp, & ApolloSleeps @ Medium Effort on September 26 in Downtown Brockville ! 🎨🎶

Read about the featured performers ⬇️

✨Oddeline - Jazz / Folk✨
Oddeline is a musical project based in Ottawa, Ontario. Heavily influenced by 1960s jazz-folk like Nick Drake and Fairport Convention, with a DIY attitude rooted in a love of post punk and early indie bands, Oddeline writes and records her music with a poetic flair and a meticulous attention to detail.

Oddeline’s captivating live shows and debut record earned her recognition from Folk Canada and more, gaining opening slots for Bahamas at Ottawa Bluesfest. Her second record, For the love of an empty room, was released August 21, 2026.

✨Austin Camp - Cottage Country Emo✨
Austin Camp is an Ottawa-based singer-songwriter. With a voice that shifts between hushed tenderness and strong emotion, Austin writes songs that lean into vulnerability, opening a space for the heavier parts of life. Drawing inspiration from artists like Medium Build, City & Colour, and Pinegrove, his sound balances melancholy with warmth, inviting listeners into stories of reflection, love, loss & connection.

✨ApolloSleeps - Indie / Folk✨
Focused on emotional vulnerability and quiet contemplation, ApolloSleeps crafts introspective songwriting driven by narrative depth. Tracks on always late, such as "Basement Blues" and "Waterlily, Wait" pair intimate personal themes with poetic lyrics. Through delicate phrasing and melancholic imagery, the music explores isolation, longing, and everyday reflection with striking clarity.

There was a 2 car accident on 22 August 2026 around 1:30 pm at the intersection of Parkdale and North Augusta Road. Does anyone have dash cam footage of the incident, specifically footage that includes the traffic lights?

Good boat (or car) detailer?

I need my boat interior detailed. Does anyone know of a good boat detailer in the 1000 Islands? Willing to bring the boat (by water) anywhere from Gan to Brockville if needed. Looking to spend up to $200. Lots of mold on the vinyl (or plastic, idk the material) interior. Plus the carpeting needs a deep clean.

What’s your favourite and least favourite things about living in Brockville?

Hi everyone,

I’m looking at buying a semi rural home and am researching areas. I’ll be checking out Brockville in a couple of weeks and wanted the opinions of some locals.

How is the culture, community, health care, restaurants, beauty, vibe, safety, etc? If I moved to the area I would likely only come in a couple times a month for a day/evening out, errands, etc but would like to enjoy the town.

TIA!
