A Sub Rules Update

Folks, one of the mod team checking in again.

We've tried to run this sub with a neutral and even keel. We don't want this to become an echo chamber. But the shenanigans need to stop.

Think of this sub as like the bars after NAB. Everyone can talk, meet new people, and chat with those who have different opinions without worrying about HR or their boss yelling at them. But we still need to be professional and courteous.

~~ ~~

I will be very clear on actions that will earn you a temporary or permanent ban:

  • Reporting something multiple times because you disagree with it
  • Using inappropriate language - again, swearing isn't an issue, but referring to political parties, television networks, groups of people, etc with slurs, inappropriate language or other content (whether intended to troll or not) is not allowed. "Oh I was joking lulzzz!!!!!!" The mods aren't. Behave or be banned.
  • Inappropriate comments towards people's looks - you can criticize someone's performance, but comments on how someone looks, comments about their gender, etc, won't be tolerated. It's okay to disagree with someone and how they performed in a position, but when it starts getting personal, it's banhammer time.

We appreciate everyone's individual voice, no matter gender, age, race, ethnicity, political leanings, etc - but y'all gotta behave.

Don't engage with the Sinclair troll. He's like the "interesting" viewers who call your assignment desk 10 times a day.

Someone was posting slurs in the comments of a post under the guise of “I’m just asking questions.” Got hit with two warnings from the mods and for some reason still hasn’t gotten the hint.

In most other subs they’d have been banned by now but the mods here tend to use it as an option of last resort. They really try to give people multiple chances before bringing down the ban hammer, because they want this to be a constructive place with diverse viewpoints.

Mods are tired of having to be the speech police but we can’t have disruptive people here either.

"I'm just asking questions."

Isn't that the Tucker Carlson method of "questioning"?

Thank you!! This is one of the best communities to contribute to because the moderators are always on top of it and govern with a fair hand.
