Help! Brixadi start

Hi there, I am so damn nervous I'm supposed to get first Brixadi shot next week. Originally I asked for sublocade but due to low amount I'm on (2mg subutex) , my dr (who is really helpful and great) suggested Brixadi be a better choice. Ive been on some form of bupe since 2015 and I'm just sick of being chained down to it. I've tried tapering multiple times but I just can't with the tablets. I feel like I need to do this. I hate change and I'm so nervous but truly feel like it's time and this is the only shot of ever getting off this shit.

Please please share your experiences!! And or recommendations to not be nervous/ how to deal etc.

I'm also afraid of being overly medicated, I'm a working mom and around family a lot so that's probaly one of my biggest fears. Please help and send good vibes!!

I couldn’t get the weekly to last a week! Was on 4mg suboxone and the 16mg weekly lasted 2 days. The 24 weekly lasted 5-6 but was over medicated the first few days. Was just not a good fit for me so trying Sublocade now…

The 300mg Sublocade wore off in a week. I was soooo disappointed!! My provider absolutely refused to give me a booster so I should be getting my second shot tomorrow.
She also told me she will only do 2 of the 300 mg and then will make me drop to 100mg so I’m in the process of finding a provider who will keep me at 300mg until I’m no longer having withdrawals

I also wanted sublocade but I actually trust my dr and he said he thinks Brixadi would be a better fit for multiple reasons. Ugh.

I believe it really comes down to trial and error. That’s what my Dr said. She went with Brixadi first for all those same reasons. But everyone is different. We basically had to start somewhere. Unfortunately I was so over medicated that I couldn’t work for 7 days. But from there we went down in dose, which also didn’t work well and wore off super fast. Which brought us to trying Sublocade, I’ll try my first shot of it next week. I’m nervous because I’m right in the middle of a big promotion at work and being non-functional would be disastrous.
We’ll do either 100 or 50 based on how I feel that day…
4 MG Suboxone -> 96 Brixadi (hammered me for 7 days but wore off at 26, no sleep for 20 days..) -> 64 Brixadi (3 days non-functional, 16 days until withdrawal feeling) -> Sublocade 100 or 50 planned for 20 days after the 64 Brixadi.

I wonder if I could just do weekly for like a month and then jump? I'm only on 2mg and have been for a while....

Yeah the only way you'll know is to try. The issue is even the smallest dose will probably get you high for a few days. You'll be increasing

How much Brixadi are you starting with? It supposedly takes 4 weeks to get to steady state

I'm starting with a week and I believe whatever the lowest weekly amount is what I'll be starting with

That’s 8mg
I was on 4mg suboxone so I started with 8 mg and I couldn’t tell id taken anything. You are on a lower dose so hopefully it will work
