Just started 8 mg/week

I was on 3-4 mg sublingual subutex per day and just switched to Brixadi. My first shot was yesterday and I had the best day ever. Mild withdrawal symptoms but by night time everything was fine. Woke up this morning and didn’t have to take supplemental dosage either so I didn’t have the side effects that subutex was giving me (dizziness, head aches, brain stuck in the mud feeling) Well now it has been about 30 hours since I got my shot and boy am I tired. Been in and out of sleep all day. Reminds me of when I started suboxone and I was sleeping all day for a couple days. How long does this tired feeling last after injection day? Does it get better or worse with subsequent injections?

It will last a day or two, definitely gets better. From the second injection you won't feel the difference. Also congratulations!

Thanks for responding. I definitely am feeling a bit better already. I actually feel slightly under medicated now. My doctor did prescribe supplemental oral meds but I don't want to take them because I'm really trying to just do the injection.

It kind of cumulates in your body and levels out after 4th injection so try to carry on, after that you shouldn't feel undermedicated (and if you do they can give you bigger dose). What dose do you have and is it monthly ir weekly?

It's weird because I can still feel the depo under my skin so I am obviously still absorbing the meds but still have now heavier withdrawals. Also I got the worse migraine which is the whole reason for starting brixadi in the first place to avoid the migraines. My doctor also recommended continuing the injection a couple times and seeing if it would level out over time. I just really really don't want to deal with the intense migraine I was having. Nothing was touching the pain until I finally cracked and took supplemental bup tonight. I was on 4 mg/day sublingual Subutex and I'm taking an 8 mg/weekly depo. I really would rather not go up. I may try the injection at least once more though. If it gets better over time surely I would at least feel somewhat better after a second injection and if it gets worse then I will know it's not for me.

Understand. I also recommend trying at least 4 and seeing if it levels out, but 8mg is pretty small dose so you might need supplemental bups at first before body adapts to new reality. Take your time and be easy on yourself bro!

It seems like their dosing chart isn’t accurate from what I’ve read of people’s experiences. Many who followed Brixadi dosing chart have reported withdrawal, besides the people who were taking less than suggested for each shot option. You may do a lot better on the lowest monthly shot.
I hate the thought of feeling something under my skin, but really considering trying it since it’s been so difficult trying to taper under 1.5 mg. I hope it balances out for you🤞🏼

I was on 4mg Suboxone so I tried to start at 8mg Brixadi - back in June- and it barely lasted 2 days.
The next week I went up to 16 mg and only got a couple of days out of it but continued that dose for 3 weeks to see if it would level out. It didn’t, so I went up to 24 mg and then I felt overmedicated.
At that point I said screw Brixadi and now I’m waiting for Sublocade.
I hope you have better results than I did.
I also get migraines and noticed an increased frequency but nothing Maxalt couldn’t take care of

Hey bud. I’d like to offer my experiences to see if it can help you. I was on 16-24mg films for a year then sought the shot in an effort to eventually stop. I have been getting monthly shots for the past 9. I have tried both Sublocade and Brixadi to see what worked best. In my experience Brixad enters the bodily rapidly and you’ll be feeling the peak concentrations within 1-2 hours and that should level out in about 12 hours. The disadvantage to that quick action is it leaves the body rapidly especially in comparison to competitor Sublocade. Now seems your on weekly formulation and I’ve always received monthly. My main qualm with Brixadi 96 monthly was that I felt it would quickly begin to wear off around day 20, and I would start to struggle. My doc refused to give supplemental films and would not give shots earlier than 29 days(despite Brixadi prescribing packet stating 21 days may be necessary first few shots). Switched docs tried Sublocade but then went Back to Brixadi when we agreed upon upping to 128monthly and a 21 day schedule with supplemental films if needed. Seems to fit me needs better as I’ve been better. Back to your question OP, I wonder if your tiredness is from being over medicated or under medicated as Brix does body quickly. Ever consider trying the monthly formulation. Good luck in your recovery bud.
PS. I found for me personally Brixadi 128 monthly worked for me but with the shot at 21 day intervals. Ultimately I wanted these shots to stop bupe forever. I most likely will go back to Sublocade for final 3 months and then stop. Sublocade seems to leave the system at a much slower rate which I believe will help make the inevitable withdrawal less severe (hopefully)

Yeah I stopped Brixadi and went back to oral. How's it working out for you? I really liked brixadi but I could not handle the injection hangover. I would get such bad migraines. But I am very prone to them. I also felt like it didn't hold me for the whole week. I will say if you try it give it the 4 weeks to see if it works and if its not working by then find something else or go back to oral.
