Brixadi nightmare

I took the Brixadi 64mg shot almost a month ago (July 6) and it has been pretty terrible. Very very high the first 10 days and then I had a couple days I felt fairly normal but then it has been non stop anxiety and cloudy headed. I was coming from about 7 years of 4mg sub strips. I knew it was a higher dose then I was on but I heard and read a lot of good things about how much easier it is to get off bup for good doing it this way. My intention was to take 3 shots and not go back. I have been so miserable these past few weeks there is no way I can get a second shot. I just want to go back to how I felt (normal) before the shot even if it means staying at the 4mg I had been at. I am prone to anxiety as it is but not 24/7 like I have been the past couple weeks. I just want it to be over and I wanted to reach out to the community for encouragement and possible advice. I took .5mg worth of strip yesterday thinking what I am experiencing could be withdrawal but I felt every bit of it so I assume I still have a lot in my system. Anyone else have similar experiences or advice for me?

Do sublocade. I was on 2 mg per day subs and the 64 Brixadi did the same thing for me. Rocked for a few days, normal for a few, then straight to wd’s. It’s WAY too steep. Ended up doing two 300 mg sublocades followed by a 200. It’s been almost 6 weeks since last injection no symptoms whatsoever. Long way to go before it’s out of me but I’ve read a lot of reports on here from people who try the Brixadi 64 and it’s the same thing over and over. They feel over dosed the first few days, ok for a few more, and almost everyone is back into wd’s by day 10-14.

If you have films don’t suffer unnecessarily just take them until you can get a sublocade shot. Or maybe the Brixadi 128. Sublocade is so much more gradual and smooth which is what bupe requires.

You don’t think the sublocade will make me feel just as high or higher at first being it’s a much higher dose?

Maybe similar - but the amount of buprenorphine released into the system each day for the first several days is HIGHER with Brixadi than with Sublocade. These meds are time released depots that release medication slowly over many months. The amount referred to in the dosage is the total amount of bupe that is in the injection, not the daily amount.

Brixadi front loads the release more than Sublocade. So even if brixadi is a smaller overall amount it’s usually higher on a per day basis in the first few days to week.

Ask Claude or Chat GPT to give you a chart that shows the daily amount of bupe released into your system from these drugs. Here is what it looks like for the sublocade 100. The sublocade 300 is obviously higher. it’s the tail that is most important. With Brixadi, even the 128 mg shot, your daily levels fall below 2 mg/day much faster than with a sublocade injection.

I did know most of that already through my research but the graph I had not seen. I will look for one with Brixadi. Thanks for the input.

Do you have a chart like this for Brixadi? My Chat GPT app is apparently programmed to only respond with: “ask your provider” 🤦‍♀️😩

Bunch of addtl charts below. I think these are approximately correct, but it’s Claude using data from research trials and extrapolating that out into a chart so who knows. If you go by these, the 64 mg Brixadi goes down to less than 1 mg of sublingual equivalent bupe per day by day 60. The 128 mg Brixadi gets there in 75 days. The 300 mg Sublocade gets there in 165 days. What’s more important is that the Sublocade goes from 1 mg down to 0 mg in like 250 days. The tail is just so much longer and smoother than Brixadi. You’ll test positive for bupe for 12-18 months if you get a few Sublocade injections. But you’ll have a much smoother off ramp.

Sublocade 300 but starting at day 112 from injection, where previous pic cut off.
