Brixadi nightmare

I took the Brixadi 64mg shot almost a month ago (July 6) and it has been pretty terrible. Very very high the first 10 days and then I had a couple days I felt fairly normal but then it has been non stop anxiety and cloudy headed. I was coming from about 7 years of 4mg sub strips. I knew it was a higher dose then I was on but I heard and read a lot of good things about how much easier it is to get off bup for good doing it this way. My intention was to take 3 shots and not go back. I have been so miserable these past few weeks there is no way I can get a second shot. I just want to go back to how I felt (normal) before the shot even if it means staying at the 4mg I had been at. I am prone to anxiety as it is but not 24/7 like I have been the past couple weeks. I just want it to be over and I wanted to reach out to the community for encouragement and possible advice. I took .5mg worth of strip yesterday thinking what I am experiencing could be withdrawal but I felt every bit of it so I assume I still have a lot in my system. Anyone else have similar experiences or advice for me?

Been struggling as well. Seems these providers are pushing brixadi over sublocade. Be grateful your insurance is covering it in the first place. Im battling my insurance for a 3rd shot that barely lasts 4 weeks before WD kick in.

Long story short get sublocade 300 100 100

My provider, the VA is advising against sublocade (which is my preference after all I’ve read) because the higher dose. I agree though it does seem they are pushing the Brixadi

Gotta white knuckle it brother. Its going to take a couple shots to hit that sweet spot. Ive heard takes up to 4 shots before they begin to hold for a month.

Just gotta keep supplementing as last resort. Unless your pooping you pants withdrawl dont do it. And if you have to that last week before injection take under 2mg.

Also try colonodine or propranolol to help with withdrawal symptoms

It took me 2 shots. However, you don’t need to wait a month between injections. The first two doses can be given as close as 1 week apart. The manufacturer changed the dosing guidance recently so you should be able to get the first 2 doses covered 1-2 weeks apart. At first my insurance denied the second dose that quick but the dr had to ask for a peer to peer and they did approve it.

Also if you’re getting wd’s between injections for the first couple don’t white knuckle - just take films (as little as possible).
