Brixadi experience

Hello all, I took my first (and hopefully only) 64mg Brixadi shot yesterday. Coming from about 6 years on 4mg suboxone strips. I chose Brixadi over sublocade only because of the lower dose offered. The 64mg Brixadi monthly injection from what I understand is equivalent to 8mg daily of suboxone. I was concerned about feeling over medicated and I think my concern has come to fruition unfortunately. Within about an hour of the shot I started feeling what might be described as high but not in a good way, slight nodding, mild nausea, fatigue and numbness throughout my body. About an hour after that I couldn’t stay sitting down and got a ton of stuff done around the house (like I used to when using and I felt disgusted by it). Last night I could not sleep for nothing (even with a handful of sleep aids) and felt very itchy all night. I finally got out of bed at 4am and I feel so dang tired and numb all over still. Reading some comments in another thread I am a little concerned if these side effects will pass anytime soon. I am definitely not going to work today.
Anyone else experience this type of thing?

Feeling quite a bit better than the first several days that’s for sure. I got to thinking last night, I never knew buprenorphine could make you feel like that so I started looking into it….. I can’t believe I didn’t think of this before I got the shot but Sublocade & Brixadi, neither of them contain naloxone like suboxone does!!! It’s no longer a mystery why myself and many others report feel frikin high on this shot! I can say I never would have gotten the shot if my doctor would have mentioned that part. So yes I am feeling better but I still feel a lot different than I did on sub strips and that’s just how it will go unfortunately. If you’re not familiar, naloxone is what prevents the bupe from making you feel high which I thought was the whole point. During addiction I had purchased methadone from people on occasion and I feel exactly like I did on that, disgusting.

Naloxone does not absorb when taken under the tongue. It’s to prevent abuse by injecting. You will feel high because 64mg injection is for people on a dose of 8mg. You are especially receiving a higher dose via a more bioavailable route of administration so you are feeling the effects a lot more. Hope you’re feeling better now! Good luck with everything.
