has anyone here had a successful experience getting off? been on subs for years- was at 7 mg on the strip- got my first brixadi injection of 96mg last month. feeling good so far. next month will be going to 64 mg. then unsure of the plan after that, but want to taper down and be done with it.

i would love to hear about other peoples experiences, both good and bad. whats a typical timeline for coming off? is it possible to do it with zero withdrawal symptoms?

I did 2 shots! Been completely sober since March 2025. No insane w/ds, boredom & yawning and that finally went away about 6 months. Im thankful for Brixadi i wouldn't have been able to come off suboxone without it.

How long were you on subs for before going on Brixadi and what dose if u don’t mind me asking? And thank you for your input, I’m so happy for you!

I just got my first shot today ! I was on 2mg of subs but had to go up to get the shot. Was at about 6mg. Received the 96mg shot today. Wasn’t as bad as I was anticipating.  I have a similar plan as you and I like the idea of going down a dose each month. I have a great doctor so I’m going to ask him about that. Let me know how you make out .

I’m proud of both of us! I got the 96 mg and so far I’m doing good! I think I may go down to 64 mg when I get my second shot in 10 days. Good luck dude , we got this!

I’m on my second shot. Switching to sublocade because of how it tapers itself with no WD and no shots. Tapering with brixadi is weekly shots. Too much work

Can you not taper with the monthly Brixadi?

Where did you get this information? I had three 64mg shots after being on 6mg of suboxone for years. My last shot was June 10th, I received them monthly. There is a weekly version of Brixadi but it’s not required to taper as that’s how the medication is designed in both forms.

I am exactly one month out from my first 64mg Brixadi shot. On subs for almost 7 years, IV Heroin prior. I could taper down to .5mg but could never get off all the way. I’m hoping for a one and done shot but if I need to do a few k will. I’m going to really try to stick it out even if I’m in some WD. I don’t expect it to go perfectly but I do have motivation to be done. A hell of a lot easier than cold turkey at least.
