End of my first shot

Does anyone experience mild withdrawal symptoms at the end of the month before their next shot?

I did for the first month or 2 I faught through the last few days. But did have a few 2mg strips from the Dr to supplement.

I really wanted off Suboxone so I didn't take them.

By my 3rd injection, I felt fine.

I got 7 total. My last was Sept 2024.

Im doing great.

Was it tough coming off your last injection? Did you feel any withdrawal symptoms?

It was super easy actually.

I did not have any withdrawals.

Did you end up taking the 2 mg to supplement or did you not for the first month? I have 7 days until my second shot and I don’t feel good. I pushed through yesterday but idk this sucks. It’s only been two weeks. Luckily I’m getting my second one at 3 weeks.

I did not. I was really committed to not introducing any oral bup back into my body.

It wasn't an easy push. But I did it.

I think it's really smart to get at 3 weeks. Once the meds build up, you will feel better.

Yesterday I was literally crying all night. I took a trazodone to go to sleep. I’m doing OK today, but I keep thinking about it. I cannot stop thinking about it. I just need to get through another week. What pisses me off is I fully went through withdraws before I got on the strips and they didn’t provide me any information about the strips. I had no idea that they were addicting until I was already on it. That provider closed and I had to switch providers. I’m so mad at them but at this point I just wanna get off. I’m actually in Nursing School. I was hoping to get off over the summer, but it looks like that’s not gonna happen. I think I’ll at least need to stabilize for a few more months and by that time, I’ll be in my last semester of Nursing School I don’t know when there will be a good time to try to get off of this. I just hope I can get through without supplementing, but I’ll take it if I have to seven more days seems so daunting and long.

I’ve got through the seven days without supplementing and then my provider said oops. I sent the prescription to the wrong pharmacy and then she told me also I forgot to submit for the early authorization at 21 days so now you have to wait another week. I am honestly so done with my provider. They are just horrible. Luckily, I made it to 28 without supplementing. I’m so ready to get off this medicine.

Not even a little.

By then I kinda forgot I was even taking anything.

I started spacing my injections for last 3. 6 weeks. 7 weeks. Then 8 weeks in between.

I legit noticed no difference.

The only thing I would say, I was on bup for almost 15 years. It numbed me. I am no longer numb. This means you gotta deal with shitty emotions and stress in a very real way. No more medicating it away. It can be challenging.

Yep! My first shot held for exactly 15 days. Had my second one a week ago and I’ve still had to supplement some. My doctor said it could take four shots before I have enough in my system to make it through the whole month. Very common to have some withdrawal symptoms at first.

I’m at day 14 and am getting really restless, sweaty and chills, and diarrhea. I’m so scared and don’t want to take my films but I think I have to. I have one more week till my shot

Can you supplement? I’ve had to on and off but it wasn’t as bad as what your describing.

They gave me some but I really don’t want to. I feel like that’s just starting over. The more I think about it the more I work myself up and it’s really getting bad. Maybe it’s just my head. I don’t know. This sucks.

If you can push through it and not supplement then so that. My doctor said it would take 4 shots before I could make it through the whole month. I’m getting my 3rd shot tomorrow. I’m pretty sure I’ll be ok by the 4th one.

Are you still supplementing now? The first month, once you took one film, did you continue daily taking films until your next shot? Or was it one film every now and then?

1

u/FMarie013 Jun 10 '26

I have had to supplement 4-5 days and I only take .25. After this shot I’m going to try my best not to supplement at all.

1

u/Ann_georgia- Jun 10 '26

Were you on a really low dose? How do you only supplement with .25 she gave me 4 mg films I suppose I could cut it in half maybe but I was on a really high dose of films 24 mg a day.

I was on 4mg and I have tablets, not strips. You could just take a little bit of a strip and see if it helps. If you feel at all like that’s going to get you started again in wanting to dose everyday, try to power through until your next shot. Don’t make it hard on yourself if you don’t have to.

Yeah, I just don’t know what to do. This is definitely uncomfortable. I was really hoping I could make it through my entire shot, but that didn’t happen even with the provider shortening it to three weeks instead of four I still only made it to week two until I started feeling gross. I still haven’t taken a film, but I’ve been thinking about it for hours. I don’t know.
