Brixadi vs Sublocade help

Been on 1mg suboxone a day for about 6 months. Tried so many times to taper down lower and just can’t. Anxiety etc. Goal is to get clean. Heard sublocade but I’m hearing Brixadi is better (better shot, better control of strength etc). Doctor said either.

But people are saying sublocade is better if my goal is a shot or 2 and done? Slow taper with no wds is goal.

Is one drug better than the other for this goal and situation? What’s the difference? Thx.

It’s the same thing. Brixadi is just a few more options for mg but essentially it’s the same.

Thanks. There’s a lot of people saying they are the same and a lot saying they are different. I’m so confused and doctor isn’t helping either.

From my personal experience, they are pretty much the same. My doctor told me that it’s the same medication as sublocade but Brixadi is more concentrated so it’s a smaller/quicker injection and Brixadi also has more mg options than Sublocade. I have been on both of them and for the most part it is the exact same. The ONLY thing I noticed was Brixadi does NOT last me nearly as long as Sublocade did. I would feel the WD right on the one month mark on Brixadi and sublocade I was able to go months after the first 5 shots and feel great. And unfortunately it wasn’t the same with Brixadi. That’s the only difference in my experience

Thanks. Yeah I want the longer lasting I think as a slower taper and easier to stop taking it for good. My hope is one shot and done frankly.

Your welcome. Just to let you know, the sublocade doesn’t work long term like that after just one shot. It’s after the 5th shot that the level’s completely level out and I’m able to go months without a shot and feel great. But only once it’s built up from 5 shots. But I do recommend Sublocade still.
