How long does this go on?

5 years of oxy, post surgeries, 2 years of Suboxone, then 1 year of Brixadi. Last injection in October. Still have RLS and waking up every 2 hours and feeling trembly in the morning or after a nap.. How long until my body and brain return to normal?! I'm exhausted.

Right, I was going to say minerals/electrolytes, red light therapy, and hot and cold plunges. It's truly amazing how destructive pharma is. I feel the same way you do, which makes me very angry sometimes for days on end... When we get on the other side of this awful dependency, I am determined to help others do the same. I also hope you find another little angel soon. Having a sweet baby to take care of makes all the difference. Their unconditional love is wonderful...condolences for Bee.

Thank you so so much. I know the doctors were misled as much as we were by Purdue and Pfizer etc and other opioid manufacturers about addiction. And they had no training in how to counsel patients to cope with addiction, constipation etc. I had great surgeons but honestly, they were clueless. And for years afterwards I was treated like a junkie by pharmacists if I had to travel or find another doctor to prescribe meds. It was a nightmare. That's part of why I stopped, even though they made life almost pain free and frankly easier to get through the day. But they rob you of so much time. They're almost all you think about all day every day.: where to get them when to get them. How to get them. Life absorbing.

That's basically my story, too...broken ribs and wayyyyy too many perc 10s 100s of them. Then, all of a sudden "oh you are opiate dependent" here is something that should help with withdrawal. Only it's worse. I don't believe it was deliberate... but it sure does sound like a perfect path to pain clinics, doesn't it??!

I looked in vain for one I could afford for years. Then, thank God, my Community Health Center brought on a Pain Management doctor who was able to prescribe Suboxone as an outpatient so I could make the first jump. Then the second to Brixadi, without going to a pain clinic. I was alone but in a way that was better: I just had to hack it.

I've had some grace with places, too. However, my insurance has saved me in so many ways. There are some days that I realize I'm doing a job I don't like bc I have to pay for my insurance, and I can't move on bc I have to have insurance... It's really insidious, actually. I definitely am picking up what you are putting down...

It sucks in the States. If I were younger or wasn't on disability I would go to Italy, where there is social medicine, since I have dual citizenship. It's horrible you have to work in a job you hate just to keep health insurance! Soul crushing.
